The opportunity

 

We are seeking a Board Solution Architect to join our Finance practice. You will be helping clients improve their business and internal finance performance through a focus on providing business advisory services that achieve measurable benefits in operational effectiveness and strategic decision making.

You’ll actively participate in engagements covering the following expertise areas:

  • Finance Transformation Strategy & Roadmap
  • Finance Statement Close & Consolidations
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Integrated Business Planning
  • ESG Reporting


Your key responsibilities

 

You'll actively establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external relationships. You'll identify potential business opportunities for EY. You will develop long-term client relationships and networks. You'll provide innovative commercial insights for clients and contribute to thought leadership. You'll actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives. You’ll help to create a positive learning culture and will counsel junior team members. Travel is estimated at 50%.

 

Client responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Board implementation projects, looking at clients’ internal finance and accounting processes and advising on solutions around creating efficient process/improving existing processes.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge for software implementations, field to field data mapping, conversion validation, system and security configuration, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Identify gaps in requirements, testing, or communication issues in client delivery.
  • Translate business processes/requirements into technical requirements & design documentation, solution design, and system configurations to support customer’s needs.
  • Liaise with Board sales and implementation resources to resolve complex issues.


People Management responsibilities

  • Develop people through supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff.
  • Assist with technical guidance to model builders, incl. training of EY and client staff.
  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop.


Skills and attributes for success

  • Understand and incorporate clients’ IT environments and existing technologies into model design
  • Conceive and develop Proof of Concept models efficiently to provide sales pursuit support and establish credibility of EY and Board’s platform.
  • Translate/expand POC models into detailed blueprints (associated modules, lists / line items, calculations, etc.)


To qualify for the role, you must have.

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 8 years’ experience in industry or in consulting
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Board implementation, covering at least 4 projects.
  • Industry experience with mix of Oracle EPM, Oracle Hyperion, OneStream, Anaplan, Tagetik, or other complex modeling tools (including Adaptive and other Board competitors)
  • Subject matter expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis, Enterprise Performance Management, Sales Performance Management (e.g. Quota / Territory Planning, Incentive Compensation Management), Sales & Operations Planning, or Integrated Business Planning domains.  
  • Strong understanding of data integration challenges & solutions, such as ETL from various client platforms. Understanding of Board office ad-ins and in-built integration with PowerBi platform.
  • Additional experience using third party ETL tools (ODI, Informatica, Snaplogic, MuleSoft, Boomi).
  • Hands of experience of B.E.A.M (predictive analytics, data clustering). 
  • Understanding of PASS Board implementation methodology.
  • Deep understanding and well-versed knowledge of subscription hub and user access management.
  • Deep knowledge in 2-3 sectors (Mining, Oil & Gas, High-Tech, A&D, Pharma, or Public sector).


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Knowledge and experience of a number of the following areas: finance transformation; planning, budgeting and forecasting; performance measurement and performance management; business performance reporting; cost reduction; shared service centers and business process outsourcing; financial statement close
