The opportunity

 

We are seeking a Power Platform Developer for our Microsoft team. We are looking for a candidate with strong technical leadership background, hands experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages and Copilot Studio. 

 

Your Key Responsibilities

 

As a Power Platform Developer, you will apply your knowledge and experience to support the delivery of key projects, build valuable relationships both within EY and with clients, and develop strong capabilities through both formal training and working with senior mentors and talented colleagues across different functions. We succeed when we combine high performing team members from a variety of backgrounds. We are therefore looking for individuals with industry, consulting, delivery or vendor backgrounds. We will provide the required support to transition into the team if this is your first step into consultancy.

 

The Power Platform Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing applications and solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages and Copilot Studio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business processes and will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet organizational needs.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Design, develop, and deploy custom applications using Power Apps to streamline business processes and improve user experience.
  • Create automated workflows and processes using Power Automate to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Conduct testing and debugging of applications to ensure functionality, performance, and security.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing Power Platform solutions, implementing enhancements as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Power Platform features, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve development processes.
  • Train and support end-users on Power Platform applications and tools, fostering a culture of self-service analytics and automation.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Power Platform Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of developed applications and solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages and Copilot Studio
  • 3–6 years in senior development or technical consulting roles with hands-on development experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio (Power Virtual Agent).
  • Strong understanding of data integration, APIs, and database concepts.
  • Familiarity with Azure services and their integration with Microsoft Power Platform solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft Dataverse and SharePoint is required
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals Certification (PL-900)

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-100, PL-200) are highly desirable.
  • Experience in developing solutions for specific industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) is a plus.
  • Experience with deployment pipelines and CI/CD
  • Knowledge and expertise on Plugins
  • Hands-on experience with other low-code no-code and automation technologies (e.g. UiPath, Blue Prism, Pega, WorkFusion)

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $110,000 to $165,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
