The opportunity

 

EY is investing in the creation of cutting edge and disruptive security products that leverage Microsoft technologies and we are looking for a Microsoft Purview & Priva Expert to help drive this initiative. You will join our new dedicated Microsoft team helping to develop and plan our strategy, support the development of our capabilities and operationalizing our offerings. In this role, you will also participate in key opportunities and engagements to provide leadership and support to help successfully deliver and grow our practice.

 

As a driven, results-oriented professional, you will work across teams to provide the knowledge, resources and tools that help EY deliver exceptional service to our internal and external clients, win in the marketplace and support EY’s growth and profitability. This role will provide you with visibility and participation across all sectors, deal sizes, competencies, and offerings. The successful candidate will have a rare opportunity to see how the firm operates across all our service lines (Consulting, Tax, Assurance, Strategy and Transactions and industries.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

As a member of our team you are key to our solution development/support, monitoring/reporting, program governance, and reporting to key stakeholders, including our executive and the lead Architect.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Hands on design and configuration of the security aspects of Microsoft Purview and Priva product Suites
  • Expressing configuration and development of the tools using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Development of advanced conditional access policies
  • Potential Live Cybersecurity Response in a Managed Services/Operations setting
  • Helping leverage AI to automate Investigation and Response
  • Provide expertise via a strong understanding of Data Security, Compliance and Privacy        

 

The Microsoft Purview/Priva Engineer role will design and implement the Purview and Priva aspects of our products. This will be done leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IAC) where possible.

The Engineer will also work with offshore colleagues to configure and deploy the various solutions.

 

Our Microsoft Technology Stack: Azure, M365, Dynamics, Purview. Priva, Entra, Defender & Sentinel

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview: A strong understanding of the Microsoft Purview data governance service is essential. This includes knowing how to set up a Purview account, create a data catalog, and manage data sources and assets
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Proficiency in data governance principles and familiarization with data compliance standards. This includes knowledge of data classification, labeling, and policy enforcement.
  • Data Management: Knowledge about various database systems, data structures, and data formats (like SQL, NoSQL, JSON, XML, etc.) can be beneficial because Purview is used to catalog and manage data across a wide array of sources
  • Understanding of Privacy Principles and Regulatory Compliance: This includes a deep understanding of global privacy laws and regulations like GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Bill C11 and others.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Purview and Priva, or similar data governance and privacy platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations.
  • A strong understanding of Data Security, Compliance and Privacy
  • Relevant certifications in data governance and privacy are a plus.


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Professional services firm experience
  • Being bilingual (English & French) would be an asset
