The opportunity

As the Assistant Director for Marketing in the Government and Public Sector (GPS) and Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sectors at EY, you will serve as the national marketing leader. You will be responsible for providing strategic insights, project management, best practices, and the latest market trends to the industry group teams and other stakeholders. Your role will involve strategy, planning and executing tailored marketing initiatives, stakeholder management, leading a specialized team, and ensuring EY's competitive edge in these sectors while working closely with practice leaders and offering them go-to-market marketing solutions.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead the marketing practice for Government and Public Sector (GPS) and Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) industries.
  • Work closely with the national sectors to facilitate the desired growth of the practice and ensure seamless delivery of projects in accordance with EY and industry standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between various sector leaders, stakeholders and marketing teams to provide robust go-to-market marketing initiatives.
  • Undertake project management initiatives to address marketing opportunities and fulfill business requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the industry group and sector leaders, including service line and sub-service line leaders, to identify business needs and areas for investment.
  • Manage go-to-market activities and prioritize initiatives that support national sector strategic plans and opportunity development.
  • Identify demand, trends, and opportunities through insightful analysis of the market, industry group, and sector accounts, and continuously seek new opportunities for improvement.
  • Curate knowledge, leveraging the full suite of EY’s services and solutions to deliver relevant insights and best practices across sectors, and to equip and enable client conversations.
  • Lead the industry group marketing team, while mentoring and coaching junior team members

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Prior experience with marketing campaign management and content development roles
  • Ability to work alongside and effectively communicate with senior executives, being seen as a credible trusted advisor for the GPS and TMT sectors
  • At ease managing multiple high-priority projects and navigating ambiguity in a deadline-driven and matrixed environment
  • Strong leadership skills and experience with overseeing staff
  • Process-driven, always looking for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to work both independently and with the team, relying on strong influencing skills to achieve results

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required. A graduate degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant business experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the public sector and its unique characteristics.
  • Proven experience in program, project, and campaign management and execution.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder management, with the ability to work comfortably with senior leaders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing trends, execution, and measurement.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and complex projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • This position is available to candidates in various EY offices across Canada. Please note that due to the national scope of the role, proficiency in English is required.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Past experience in professional services is highly desirable.
  • B2B marketing experience an asset.
