The opportunity

 

Within EY's Technology Assurance practice, we are currently seeking a Manager to lead and manage third party assurance engagements, specifically SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports, as well as other IT compliance services. You will be part of the management team that will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of SOC engagements. You may also serve as a Manager on other Technology Assurance engagements, as needed.

 

Your key responsibilities:

This candidate will be required to participate in our Technology Assurance services offering. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • SOC Reporting – Lead SOC 1 and SOC 2 engagements under CSAE3416/3000, SSAE18, or ISAE 3402
  • Internal Controls Attestations – Focus on reviewing management’s assertions over their business processes and IT governance, risk and controls.
  • Work with the engagement team and client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses the risks inherent to the engagement.
  • Maintain relationships with client management to manage expectations of service, including work products, timing, and the value to be delivered.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex information systems and apply it to client situations.
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology/tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services.
  • Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to bring value to clients.
  • Play an active role in resource management, team development and training related activities.

 

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience (post-graduation) working as an auditor for a public accounting firm or have equivalent systems/technology experience
  • Extensive SOC reporting experience, as well as experience with IT Audit methodologies (internal and external audits)
  • A strong understanding of the requirements set under CPA Canada, AICPA and ISAE, as it pertains to SOC reporting
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Commerce, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or another relevant program
  • Possess relevant IT / audit designation(s) (e.g. CPA, CISA, CRISC)
  • Proven ability to teach and develop your team’s knowledge as it relates to CPA and AICPA reporting standards.
  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, committed self-starter
  • Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment
