At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The opportunity

Our Forensic & Integrity Services (Forensics) team is experiencing rapid growth, and as an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Investigations Manager you’ll be a key part of that growth. Working with companies across all industries, you’ll develop your career by communicating creative solutions for the client’s specific needs.  This opportunity is for team-oriented individuals who want to continually learn, research new technologies or investigation methodologies and develop new skills to drive innovation as part of a continually evolving service offering.

This job posting relates to an existing vacancy within our organization.

Your key responsibilities

The nature of this role means no two engagements are the same. You will work closely with clients to understand their concerns, objectives, and risk environment, and design proportionate, defensible OSINT‑led investigation approaches. You will be responsible for conducting structured analysis of open‑source and publicly available information to help clients understand what occurred, assess potential impacts, and determine how information may have been accessed, disclosed, or misused.

You will support clients on a range of matters, including insider threat assessments and other sensitive investigations, often across multiple engagements simultaneously. This role requires strong analytical judgment and the ability to think creatively about non‑traditional data misuse, identify indicators of malicious or inappropriate behaviour, and enhance investigative methodologies. You will also help clients strengthen data integrity, improve investigative readiness, and manage legal, regulatory, and privacy risks in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Demonstrated ability to build a deep understanding of clients’ industries, risk environments, and emerging trends, and translate those insights into practical investigation and risk‑mitigation strategies.
  • Strong experience leading OSINT‑driven investigations using publicly available, social media, and online sources to support matters such as insider threat, misconduct, fraud, litigation, and reputational risk.
  • Ability to design, oversee, and quality‑review structured, defensible OSINT methodologies, including source validation, corroboration, event reconstruction, and documentation suitable for legal scrutiny.
  • Advanced analytical and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to assess the relevance, reliability, and limitations of open‑source information and form clear, supportable conclusions.
  • Proven client‑facing leadership, including scoping engagements, managing sensitive stakeholder relationships, and delivering practical, risk‑focused insights to legal, compliance, and executive audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high‑quality reports and presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of privacy, data protection, ethical considerations, and proportionality related to OSINT collection and use across jurisdictions.
  • Experience managing multiple engagements and teams simultaneously in a fast‑paced consulting environment, while maintaining quality, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative leadership style, with experience coaching, reviewing, and developing junior team members within multidisciplinary forensics and risk teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree, typically supported by approximately 7–12 years of relevant investigative, intelligence, or consulting experience.
  • Strong project management, documentation, and prioritization skills, including managing budgets, timelines, and client expectations.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel or work extended hours when required to respond to client‑driven events.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience working with large, complex, or global organizations, including Fortune 500 or multinational clients.
  • Exposure to cross‑border investigations and managing OSINT considerations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of evidence handling, chain of custody principles, and the integration of OSINT findings with broader forensic or investigative workstreams.

What we look for

We’re interested in passionate managers, with the intellectual curiosity to actively pursue new knowledge in the rapidly changing world of OSINT. Naturally you’ll need a firm technical foundation, as well as the ability to translate complex information into meaningful, actionable insights.  But we’re not just looking for strong technical skills – we’re interested in people that have the ability to nurture relationships, both internal and external, and are committed to intimately understanding our client’s needs.  If you’re looking to become part of a community of advisors where you’ll make a measurable difference across some of the most prestigious businesses around, this role is for you.

What we offer

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. In addition, our Total Rewards package allows you decide which benefits are right for you and which ones help you create a solid foundation for your future. Our Total Rewards package includes a discretionary bonus program, a comprehensive medical, prescription drug and dental coverage plan, a defined contribution pension plan, a great vacation policy plus firm paid days that allow you to enjoy longer long weekends throughout the year, statutory holidays and paid personal days (based on province of residence), and a range of exciting programs and benefits designed to support your physical, financial and social well-being. Plus, we offer:

  • Support and coaching from some of the most engaging colleagues in the industry
  • Learning opportunities to develop new skills and progress your career
