The opportunity
EY’s Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice is a consulting unit that provides risk management support to banks, insurers and asset managers. Our team includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. We are seeking a Manager with minimum 5-7 years experience in a mix of program management and/or risk management & regulatory experience acquired in the banking industry or in consulting services to join our team in our Toronto office.
The Manager, FSRM will be responsible for leading risk management program execution on client engagements at Financial Institutions, ensuring effective and efficient delivery against objectives and project deadlines. You will work with a team whose focus is on solving complex problems for our clients and supporting them to achieve their program goals. You will leverage your prior experience and skillset to bring innovative solutions, tools, technologies and best practices in delivering for our clients. Reporting to the Senior Manager/Director of FSRM, the Manager will act as a single point of contact on these programs and lead a team of EY senior consultants/staff as well as client teams to manage day to day operations.
Your key responsibilities
As a Manager within FSRM, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement program governance and program management strategies on high visibility risk & regulatory engagements at financial institutions where successful outcomes are critical
- Establish leading practice program management services such as program plan management, meeting ownership and facilitation, quality assurance, decision management, document management, etc.
- Partner closely with key stakeholders and domain teams on a daily/weekly basis to understand program progress, risks, and issues affecting their workstreams; escalate and resolve as necessary
- Coordinate, collect, and validate, program and domain team weekly status reports
- Create various steering committee and weekly status reporting meeting materials that reflect program status in a clear and concise manner and facilitate this material to an executive audience
- Track progress of program execution aligned to tasks, milestones, and corrective actions across multiple domains and stakeholders
- Responsible for continuous improvement and change management as it relates to internal program management processes and stakeholders
- Respond to ad hoc client executive requests in a timely and proficient manner
- Work with leadership on developing responses to client proposals and drive impactful conversations with senior client leaders
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance or other related fields of study.
- 5-7 years’ experience in program management and/or risk & regulatory initiatives acquired in the banking industry or in consulting services
- Ability to set up Program Management Offices and rolling out the necessary governance and operational processes to manage the program
- Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills to describe ideas, concepts and issues that involve interpretation, analysis and assessment of complex conceptual topics
- Thought leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights and actionable strategies
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence without direct authority
- Self-starting attitude, the ability to think out of the box and driven by new challenges
- Strong abilities to write and deliver proposals to prospective clients
- Ideally, you’ll also have
- Proven experience in regulatory risk remediation in a technology setting
- Experience in dealing with Regulatory bodies and responding to regulatory matters. It would be considered an asset if you have previous experience working with OSFI, OCC- USA and FRB – USA
- Relevant Project Management certification (s); PMP, PMI PMBOK, APM BOK, PRINCE2, MSP, MoR, and Agile
