The opportunity
The Strategy and Transactions (SaT) Service Line continues to experience rapid growth. In particular, the Parthenon pillar is one of the fastest growing areas of our business. In this role, the Learning Leader is responsible for setting the learning strategy for the SaT Canada practice at large, while overseeing the deployment of learning that include both integrating new practitioners into the business and upskilling existing practitioners. The role reports to the Talent Development & Learning Leader and strategically aligns with the SaT Managing Partner, sub-service line and competency leaders, Talent Team as well as with the Global and Americas learning groups.
The SaT Learning Leader is responsible for leading a team in the development and delivery of learning events including forecasts, target audience identification, and budget management, while ensuring the overall needs of the business and people are met in the most effective manner. The leader regularly engages with leaders, practitioners, other Talent functions and subject matter resources across geographies to ensure business alignment and deployment preparedness. The ability to build and nurture relationships is essential to the success of this role. The leader in this position promotes a continuous learning culture and is accountable for ensuring a consistent, high-quality learning experience in conjunction with the career development framework at EY. The role may also supervise, coach and mentor another Service Line learning team in their delivery of programs and training. This opportunity is a full-time position and occasionally requires early morning or evening commitments.
Your key responsibilities
- Teaming with the business
- Connect with the Canadian SaT sub-service line and competency leaders and Talent to define learning needs and priorities
- Work with the SaT practice to deliver training and strategic priorities
- Execute on and communicate learning plans, budget, and strategy in an agile manner for skills development and growth in the SaT practice
- Collaborate with SaT learning at the Global and Americas levels on strategy, learning deliverables, methods, approaches, instructor management, processes, tools, and sharing of ideas and best practices
- Collaborate with the wider Canadian learning team to find efficient, effective modes of developing world-class learning and development opportunities and processes
- Strategic thinking and decision making
- Set the strategic priorities for SaT learning and work with the team to ensure delivery of learning, with a particular knowledge of innovative training in matrix organizations
- Translate the needs of the business into learning and development solutions
- Develop and manage the SaT learning budget in collaboration with Finance, SaT Managing Partner and Director of Talent
- Make key decisions and suggestions based on a solid understanding of firm and business objectives
- May oversee another Service Line Learning team and advise on learning projects across the firm

To qualify for the role, you must have
- 7+ years of progressive work experience in Learning
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Flexibility to work additional hours, accustomed to work in consulting or comparable high demand environments
- Strong background in learning and development, certification in learning programs and tools is preferred
- Demonstrated ability and confidence working with technology and learning new software
- Advanced capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint
- This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and professionals nationally and globally. Professional competency in the English language is therefore a requirement of this role. Bilingualism in both French and English is considered an asset
