The opportunity
 
Insurers across the globe are investing heavily in technology-enabled transformation programs. Several solutions “hot spots” exist today, such as in claims, underwriting, policy, billing, digital, data, cloud and E2E integrated solutions. Our ambition is to be the C-suite advisor for insurance technology-enabled transformation programs, recognized by our clients for our insightful thought leadership, proactively meeting their needs, and having truly globally integrated capabilities. Typical projects will span the following areas of insurance technology enabled transformation:

  • Digital transformation in insurance
  • Customer and growth agenda in insurance
  • Insights-based performance improvement solutions
  • SaaS-based insurance core system modernization
  • Cloud-hosted managed service solutions
  • Innovation enablement in insurance

Your key responsibilities 


You’ll be responsible for working directly with clients to transform their business problems into technology solutions. The goal is to support our clients' efforts to make their business units more effective and efficient and, where required, provide services in connection with the remediation and mitigation of process risk. You will assist engagement teams through the analysis of specific business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, technology infrastructure design, vendor selection and technology implementation solutions that support our clients.
 
Skills and attributes for success

  • Demonstrate strong proven Guidewire technical developer capabilities that support the insurance system implementation process 
  • Remain current on new developments in Guidewire application capabilities and maintain current certifications and/or pursuit of certifications in latest versions
  • Experience in insurance industry knowledge through prior work experience and/or industry courses
  • Lend specific Guidewire application and experience knowledge to the design and integration phase of each project, helping to give specificity to the appropriate architecture, data model, system design and interfacing requirements
  • Advise workstreams on client requirements to validate alignment to Guidewire applications framework to maintain high conformance 
  • Collaborate with client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds; foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have or can demonstrate proven experience in: 

  • Strong technical experience with a focus on implementing insurance applications
  • Guidewire Certification(s) in a recent version are preferred and/or proven experience with any of the following offerings:
    • InsuranceSuite: PolcyCenter, ClaimCenter and BillingCenter
    • Digital Portals: ProducerEngage, CustomerEngage and VendorEngage
    • Data & Analytics: DataHub and InfoCenter
    • Guidewire Cloud 
    • Integrations
  • Experience or exposure with various database applications, such as (including but not limited to) Azure SQL Database, ORACLE 10g/11g, SQL Server 2005/2008, MS Access 2007
  • Strong understanding of ETL, life cycle development, and system design lifecycle
  • Knowledge of visualization tools and analytical tools
  • Strong technical expertise of programming and scripting languages, such as GOSU, Core JAVA, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, AngularJS, PHP, XML, JSON
  • Strong technical expertise with IDE/Tools: Guidewire Studio, Eclipse, Microsoft Visio (UML), Microsoft Business Intelligence Tools
  • (SSIS, SSAS), SOAP UI 
  • Experience with Development Methodologies such as: Agile/Scrum, Test Driven Development
  • Strong written skills and oral communication to articulate complex technical content to non-technical customers
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment 
  • Demonstrated success in performing work and experience with complex and/or large consulting projects

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience working with a globally distributed team and/or managing offshore teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical writing and client presentations
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking through a proven ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues related to regulations, industry practice and new application technologies
  • Willingness to travel 80% to meet client needs
