The opportunity
As a Senior Manager in our Financial Services Finance Transformation practice, you will play a critical leadership role in delivering complex transformation engagements for banks, insurance companies, credit unions, and other financial institutions. You will advise CFOs, Controllers, and senior Finance leaders on transforming finance operating models, processes, data, reporting, consolidation, and enabling technology. Drawing on deep Finance Transformation expertise and a strong understanding of the Financial Services industry, you will be accountable for the successful delivery, quality, and profitability of large-scale engagements and multiple workstreams, while supporting the growth of the practice through strong client relationships and business development.

Your key responsibilities
- Lead complex, large-scale Finance Transformation engagements for Financial Services clients, including banks, insurance companies, credit unions, and other financial institutions, covering finance strategy, operating model, process transformation, data and reporting, consolidation, close, planning and forecasting, and finance technology.
- Lead the assessment and redesign of Financial Services finance processes, including financial, management and regulatory reporting, consolidation and close, planning, budgeting and forecasting, performance management, and reconciliations.
- Advise clients on the design and modernization of finance architecture, including the interaction between core banking or insurance platforms, sub-ledgers, general ledgers, consolidation platforms, enterprise performance management solutions, data platforms, and reporting tools.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight across multiple engagements or workstreams, ensuring delivery excellence, value creation, and high-quality outcomes for clients.
- Own engagement financial performance, including budgeting, staffing strategy, margin management, and proactive risk management.
- Act as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Controllers, Heads of Finance Transformation, and senior Finance and Technology stakeholders, translating business, reporting, data, control, and regulatory requirements into executable transformation roadmaps.
- Lead and contribute to business development activities, including proposal development, client pitches, and expansion of existing accounts.
- Identify and shape market opportunities related to Financial Services finance modernization, including finance operating model transformation, close and consolidation, reporting, enterprise performance management, data improvement, and technology-enabled process transformation.
- Build strong relationships across the Consulting practice and other EY service lines to deliver integrated, cross-functional solutions.
- Bring relevant Financial Services sector insight to engagements, including an understanding of how finance functions operate across banking, insurance, and credit unions, and the implications of complex products, legal-entity structures, data flows, controls, and reporting requirements.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Managers and team members, supporting their professional growth through structured feedback, performance management, and career development.
- Conduct performance reviews and contribute to promotion and talent decisions.
- Play a key role in people initiatives, including recruitment, talent retention, workforce planning, and capability development within the Finance Transformation practice.
- Drive training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to ensure continuous enhancement of technical, leadership, and consulting skills.
- Uphold and promote EY policies, values, and quality standards across all engagements.

- Ability to understand finance-system landscapes and data flows across source platforms, sub-ledgers, general ledgers, consolidation and enterprise performance management platforms, data repositories, and reporting solutions.
- Ability to connect finance strategy, process, data, technology, controls, and organizational considerations into an integrated transformation roadmap.
- Working knowledge of the regulatory and control environment affecting Financial Services finance functions, with the ability to incorporate regulatory and reporting implications into transformation design.
- Ability to communicate effectively across Finance, Risk, Technology, Operations, and business stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive for growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating closely with senior leaders and Partners.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at executive levels
To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelor’s degree and typically 10+ years of relevant experience in finance transformation, finance consulting, or finance-function leadership, including significant experience working within or advising banks, insurance companies, credit unions, or other financial institutions.
- Proven experience leading complex Finance Transformation programs through assessment, design, implementation, stabilization, and benefits realization.
- Strong understanding of Financial Services finance operating models, processes, systems, data, controls, and reporting requirements.
- Experience across several finance capabilities, such as finance strategy, target operating model, financial and management reporting, regulatory reporting processes, consolidation and close, planning and forecasting, performance management, reconciliations, and finance data management.
- Experience assessing or transforming Financial Services finance systems and data flows, including product platforms, sub-ledgers, general ledgers, consolidation and performance management solutions, data platforms, reporting tools, and automation technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business, finance, reporting, data, control, and regulatory requirements into practical transformation roadmaps and executable solutions.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and working across Finance, Technology, Risk, Treasury, Operations, Actuarial, and business stakeholders, as applicable.
- Strong executive stakeholder management, commercial leadership, project governance, and business-development capabilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
- Relevant professional qualifications or advanced education, such as an MBA, CPA, CA, CMA, CFA, or recognized transformation, project, technology, or change-management certification, are considered assets but are not required.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
- Toronto: $148,000 to $222,500
