The opportunity
Responsible for the strategic delivery of Financial Management Associate support to the business through effective assignment to books of business (partner and/or account). Takes ownership of the recruitment, direct supervision, management, mentorship, development, and the evaluation of a team of approximately 12-14 Financial Management Associates (FMAs) who are aligned to provide service line support and guidance.
Independently and effectively guides FMAs with identification of risks and opportunities related to the daily management of their books of business or other requests from client service personnel, service line leadership and/or Markets Finance leadership. Advises, coaches and trains FMAs in handling complex tasks and duties requiring a vast knowledge of finance functions, systems, policies and procedures. Provides oversight of both virtual and co-located resources.
Performs root cause analysis when issues arise; proposes and implements strategic solutions that will positively impact the Markets Finance organization and drive change within assigned Service Line. Teams with other FMA Assistant Directors to share/gain solutions within and across Service Line(s) for optimum results overall.
Your key responsibilities
- Oversee, guide, coach and assess a team of FMAs to enable the effective delivery of engagement level support to assigned partners and/or accounts
- Develop and foster a culture of exceptional client service within the FMA population who are aligned to a specific Service Line by ensuring FMAs understand the business priorities and target metrics and exhibit Trusted Business Advisor skills in their interactions
- Serve as key point of contact to triage system functionality issues, including leveraging team for testing of fixes or enhancements
- Perform root cause analysis when issues arise and recommends and implements strategic solutions that positively impact the business or operations
- Identify and communicate trends/issues in execution of support through analysis of reporting and book of business reviews with team members
- Serve as a subject matter specialist in the firm’s global financial system, as well as SL practices and policies
- Team with local Markets Finance Lead and others to improve support, collaboration and/or increase process efficiencies
- Lead and/or coordinate global financial system training sessions for FMAs and/or CSEs as needed

What we look for
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience with additional financial management experience beneficial.
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management position.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting or business administration, a master’s degree is a plus.
- This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and professionals nationally and globally. Professional competency in the English language is therefore a requirement of this role.
- Bilingualism in both French and English is considered an asset
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience supervising larger teams preferred.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $92 300 to $153 800. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city
