The opportunity
As a valued member of Canada’s Talent Team, the Experienced Hire Recruiter will have the chance to provide an exceptional candidate experience and identify talent for EY.
We are seeking an Experienced Hire Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team in Canada. This role will focus on sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent for the Tax Service Line, which includes both Tax and Law practices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either tax or legal recruitment, a deep understanding of the tax or law recruitment landscape, and a passion for connecting talented professionals with exciting career opportunities.
The Experienced Hire Recruiter collaborates closely with Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers, leveraging expertise in best practices and market insights to identify and attract top talent. You will develop recruitment strategies, conduct interviews, facilitate the selection process and showcase your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, all while serving as an ambassador for EY and upholding our culture and reputation in the industry.
Your key responsibilities
- Developing and executing tailored recruitment strategies specifically aimed at attracting top-tier talent in either the Tax or Law sectors, utilizing your expertise in tax or legal recruitment methods and concepts.
- Utilizing various sourcing techniques, including job boards, social media, networking events, and legal industry associations, to identify and engage potential candidates for Tax or Law positions.
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of assessment methods to ensure that all candidates presented meet the qualifications and align with EY's culture and values.
- Working in close partnership with hiring managers, understanding their specific needs and requirements for Tax or Law roles and providing guidance on best practices throughout the recruitment process.
- Staying informed about the Tax or Law sector, including external market trends and key players, to effectively map relevant skill sets and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates ready for hire.
- Leveraging EY’s recruitment tools and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, while embracing the branding strategy throughout the recruitment lifecycle to enhance the candidate experience.
- Implementing and promoting strategies that attract a diverse pool of candidates and ensuring an inclusive recruitment process to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion within the Tax or Law practices.
Skills and attributes for success
- 3 or more years of full-cycle recruitment experience, preferably within the tax or legal sector, demonstrating a strong understanding of the related recruitment landscape.
- A proven track record of executing high-volume recruitment and solid experience in sourcing candidates from various channels, including headhunting, job boards,
- LinkedIn, and recruitment portals.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to quickly learn and understand the nuances of highly technical roles, as well as firm recruitment policies, processes, and protocols.
- Strong communication skills, effectively engaging with candidates and stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience in the professional services sector.
- This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and professionals nationally and globally. Professional competency in the English language is
- therefore a requirement of this role. Bilingualism in both French and English is considered an asset

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
- Toronto: $65,600 to $98,400
