A key member of the EY People Team, the Compensation Specialist will assist in the development and ongoing evaluation of the firm's compensation programs, including base and variable pay as well as reward and recognition programs. The incumbent will provide support to HR and Leadership through the analysis and presentation data on all aspects of compensation. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy of data in supporting Compensation systems.
Your key responsibilities
- Assist in the development of base pay and incentive programs for the Assurance, Consulting, Tax, CBS, and SAT practices within Canada
- Support the annual salary increase planning process for the Canadian Area through development of recommendations based on thorough analysis of competitive market data
- Participate in Americas/Global projects
- Provide technical support and training to users on Comp tools
- Support Business Leaders, Service Line HR Consultants and HR Leaders through thorough analysis and presentation market data
- Participate in compensation surveys
- Compile appropriate market matches for EY roles and work with HR leaders to validate
- Analyze and interpret survey results and draft reports which summarize findings
- Conduct job evaluation for new and revised roles using the existing JE methodology
- Ensure compliance with Canadian legislation
- Continually strive to simplify and streamline processes to continue to drive consistency provide opportunities for adding value
Skills and attributes for success:
- University degree required; candidates having a bachelor's degree are preferred
- Minimum 5 + years experience in compensation or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Previous experience with the development and utilization of compensation planning system and/or market data analysis system
- Very strong computer skills including Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and lookups), PowerPoint and PeopleSoft
- Ability to do modeling and forecasting, and to link and work with multiple spreadsheets
- Ability to collect, analyze and manipulate large amounts of data
- Solid understanding of HR policies and practices
- Strong oral and written communication skills that will enable you to clearly explain technical and complex issues to a broad audience at all levels within the organization
- A team player who works closely with other members of the Total Rewards team
Ideally, you’ll also have
- CHRP and/or CCP designation is an asset.
