The Business Transformation – Financial Services practice offers financial services clients the assistance needed to improve their performance in a rapidly changing business environment. We assemble experienced multidisciplinary teams, use consistent and proven global methodologies and draw on the full breadth of EY’s global reach, depth of capabilities and knowledge. Collectively, the group has a comprehensive skill set, which supports the delivery of operations, technology, product, sales, compliance, and risk projects for top clients in the Canadian financial services industry.
The objective of our Corporate, Commercial and Small and Medium Enterprise (CCSB) Banking Practice is to support financial services to continually innovate, transform to retain relevance, and deliver on growth. You can expect to work with client resources to analyze, evaluate, and enhance transformational programs within CCSB’s five key focus areas: 1) client and salesforce transformation, to drive a more digital, responsive and efficient customer experience, 2) commercial lending transformation, across people, process, models, tech, and policy, 3) cash management transformation, including transaction banking, treasury and payments modernization, 4) ecosystems and beyond banking, including partnerships and integrated platforms, and 5) productivity, including streamlining operating models, customer alignment to operating models, tech and operations.

Our team is looking for exceptional, driven and passionate players with an entrepreneurial mindset, energy and desire to succeed. As part of this team, you will help develop and grow EY’s Corporate, Commercial and SME (CCSB) Banking team.
We are looking for energised, motivated leaders with experience helping CCSB clients to transform the front, middle and back office of our clients. Working closely with our clients, offering points of view and advice, supporting them to make change decisions, navigating the implementation of technology and operational workflows and bringing teams along with the transformation journey.
Our engagements span from strategic assessments, target operating model designs, system / vendor selections, technology and data architecture design and implementation support of mid to large scale transformation opportunities.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead engagements / key workstream – Manage the delivery of small and large / complex client engagements including planning, execution, stakeholder management and delivering strategic outcomes
- Business & practice development – Assist the partner and the team by contributing in business development initiatives including developing proposals and scoping documents, and
- proactively building relationships with clients and peers at EY
- Team management – Support people development through activities such as recruitment, mentoring and counsellor programmes
- Work with the partner, other practices and the team to execute the growth strategy and initiatives
Skills and attributes for success
- Bring CCSB industry knowledge and experience (e.g., Front-to-back capabilities and value chain, understanding of CCSB technology vendor landscape and service providers)
- Proven delivery leadership and people leadership roles in CCSB projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations
- Structured approach to critical problem solving
- The ability to lead and supervise project teams in a collaborative environment, to provide valuable insight and high-impact solutions to client issues.
To qualify for the role you must have
- A successful track record leading projects (5 years+) in CCSB Banking, CCSB Credit, Treasury Management, Transaction Banking and/or Client Front Office, gained through experience working at a financial services company, a top tier consulting firm, a specialist financial services consultancy, or an CCSB technology or service provider
- Experience of leading sales collateral such as proposal responses
- Strong business writing, presentations and stakeholder management skills
- People coaching and mentoring experience
- Extensive experience of project and programme delivery
- Deep understanding of current market trends in the CCSB industry and subject matter expertise
Ideally, you’ll also have
- CCSB Lending/Credit experience across the credit lifecycle (e.g. sales/origination, underwriting, fulfillment, servicing, loan accounting, monitoring, and default)
Consulting experience with a Big 4 firm or large global financial institution - Knowledge of KYC, AML, and other applicable compliance regulations
- Channel (branch, online, mobile, contact center, relationship manager) transformation experience
- Experience with operating model design to define target state business, operations, technology, and control partner functions
- Experience in core platform transformation to support the changing business and regulatory landscape, enabling the realization of strategic business priorities including improved client experience, market expansion and easier partner/correspondent banking integration
- Experience in design, testing, and implementation of technology-enabled solutions
- Experience in vendor assessment, selection, and transformation
- Experience in capability maturity model planning, roadmap development and investment prioritization for large-scale, strategic, and transformative initiatives
- Knowledge of workforce readiness, mobilization, and sales force effectiveness
