The opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Platform Architect to join our IT Solutions team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering technology solutions that address complex business needs, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organization.
As a Platform Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of high-performance, scalable, and secure software applications that support the institution's financial services offerings. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, developers, and IT infrastructure teams to ensure the architecture aligns with business goals, security requirements, and industry regulations. Your expertise will shape the organization's technology strategy while fostering continuous improvement and innovation across the technology stack.
Your key responsibilities
- Define and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance application architectures aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the end-to-end development and deployment of enterprise applications, ensuring best practices and timely execution.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends, advocate for cloud-native and microservices architectures, and drive modernization initiatives.
- Work with business and IT teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and ensure seamless system integration.
- Implement security best practices, regulatory compliance, and data protection measures in all platform solutions.
- Identify opportunities for performance enhancements, process automation, and cost efficiencies.
- Evaluate third-party solutions, oversee integrations, and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- 8+ years in software architecture and application development, including 3+ years in a leadership role within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of full-stack platform architecture (web, application, database).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices, DevOps, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, .NET, Python, or JBase.
- Expertise in system integration, APIs, and database management (SQL & NoSQL).
- Knowledge of security frameworks, identity management, and encryption.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- TOGAF certification or equivalent.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Familiarity with financial regulatory reporting, AML, and KYC systems.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $88,000 to $130,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
