Senior Consultant – Financial Services – SDET – Advisory

The opportunity
The SDET role specializes in development of capabilities and code to automate testing of the product or system under test.
You will be part of a business-aligned development squad that specializes in building, enhancing and maintaining custom software and solutions supporting the business.
Your key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure the quality of software products.
- As a squad member, work to understand software requirements.
- Design, develop and maintain automated tests that validate the functionality.
- As a squad member work to identify and resolve defects and improve the overall software testing process.
- Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CICD)
processes. - Diagnose and remediate software defects.
- Stay current with new software testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.
- Understand and apply industry-specific best practices & standards.
- Establish level of expertise in the business areas, systems and platforms being supported.
- Responsible for system integration testing, including automation, of newly developed or enhanced applications.
- Responsible for reviewing requirements and design artifacts, developing unit, integration and system test cases, ensuring extensive test coverage for our applications.
- Understand and articulate the business and the value adds.
- Play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete results.
- Responsible for Project Coordination and Technical Management tasks
Skills and attributes for success
- Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination
- Strong experience with automated testing and test-driven development
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, etc.)
- Knowledge of Databases and SQL preferred.
- Detailed understanding of smoke testing, black-box, and non-black box testing, as well as regression testing.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and techniques, including unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing
- Hands On experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc. as well as CI/CD technologies (e.g. Cloudbees, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, Git, JUnit, Jira etc.).
- Extensive experience with testing modern scripting language-based components.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery processes and tools, such as Jenkins,
CircleCI, etc. - Expert and hands on with backend test automation using Rest Assured/Karate for API testing. JDBC/JPA for database testing (Oracle DB2/ Snowflake).
- Experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or another related major
- Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience
- Familiar with at least one prominent actuarial modeling software platforms, including but not limited to: Moodys GGY AXIS, FIS Prophet, Milliman ALFA/Integrate, Aon Benfield PathWise, Slope, PolySystems, among others.
- Strong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, project management, and interpersonal skills
- A proven ability to manage time while working on multiple, often shifting, projects, and the confidence to work both collaboratively and independently under pressure
- Willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs
Ideally, you’ll also have
• Proven min experience of 5-7 years with automated unit and integration testing.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $67,000 to $136,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $80,300 to $155,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
