The opportunity
The purpose of the global EY organization is to Build a better working world. The insights and services the organization provides help to drive long-term value for clients, people, and society and to build trust in the capital markets. An essential function under EY Business Enablement, Supply Chain Services (SCS) is a global team with more than 600 professionals in over 35 countries supporting the EY organization across the globe. This structure helps enable knowledge-sharing across categories and regions, streamlining efforts in seeking innovative suppliers that can provide exceptional client service to maximize SCS’s value for the EY organization and the world's supply chain.
A key component of SCS is Global Procurement, whose purpose is to drive significant synergies and value creation from sourcing to contract lifecycle management, deliver exceptional client experiences and build more vital collaboration to manage Technology, Talent, Alliances and Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) spend categories. We forge meaningful supplier relationships and strengthen supplier resilience to help EY maximize long-term value for its people, clients, and communities.
As Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM), the successful candidate will be accountable for assigned ServiceNow and other supplier contract(s) to provide transparency on supplier performance and contract compliance by ensuring the appropriate controls and processes are in place to reduce risk, improve supplier performance, optimize contract value, and ensure partnership efficiency along with contributing to building out the supplier management capability within SCS.
The SRM will work across SCS, respective areas of the business, key stakeholders and assigned contract(s) to standardize key success metrics, coordinate/facilitate executive supplier business review and service review meetings, establish governance processes, manage disputes, coordinate supplier engineering sessions, provide contract understanding and guidance, track compliance of key deliverables, manage the relationship, and other supplier management activities.
Your key responsibilities
• Act as a trusted business advisor to EY stakeholders, aligning projects with the business pipeline and providing exceptional customer service while delivering both brand and quantitative value through contract value realization
• Willingness to work during European & early North America business hours with stakeholders.
• Execution of the Global Procurement SCS SRM framework for ServiceNow and other suppliers
• Work with SRM Lead and senior stakeholders to help build a supplier strategy which supports the overall global SRM strategy
• Understand our global supplier footprint, types of contracts signed, and supplier deliverables and obligations as defined in the contracts, developing a strong understanding of the category, and helping SRM Lead drive the future roadmap.
• Engage appropriately at business stakeholder, Procurement, and supplier levels
• Collaborate with other SRMs to drive best and consistent supplier management practices across Global Procurement / SCS. Build strong relationships with assigned supplier(s) while monitoring performance, compliance, and deliverables, identifying, and addressing any deviations or non-compliance issues where required
• Define, track and report benefits and value realization metrics provided by the supplier relationship
• Identify and recommend further benefit and value optimization opportunities
• Report category insights and progress via regular stakeholder meetings
• Achieve value targets while developing innovative cost reduction strategies to improve negotiable spend via supplier relationship management activities
• Support improvement in processes, policy, systems, management information and reporting
• Work closely with other business partners including Technology, Legal (GCO), Global Client Serving Partners, Sector Leaders, etc. on a regular basis
• Work closely with risk management to minimize contractual risks to the organization and demonstrate year on year improvement in quantitative value
• Socialize and facilitate the Procurement and Supply Chain Global Policy and processes, ensuring that the project teams and stakeholders understand the value of the policy and adhere accordingly
• Support the RFI/RFP/contracting process with focus on performance standards and
• governance
• Assist with internal audit/compliance review processes for suppliers.
• Provide structured management and accurate progress reporting on all projects
• Have a strong understanding of key suppliers and their position in the market, in addition to working through current market intelligence resources and partners to perform the latest research
Skills and attributes for success
• Strong business acumen and commercial skills to drive supplier relationship management strategy for the SRM Global Procurement / SCS function
• Understanding of the commercial drivers of supplier performance
• Extensive knowledge of the SRM landscape and key suppliers, with deep understanding of Technology offerings and solutions across cloud, managed services, and in the datacentre.
• Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills in business English
• Collaborative team member valuing cooperation and teamwork
• Strong analytical skills and ability to present to senior stakeholders
• The ability to drive change by building strong, trusting relationships with senior stakeholders and business partners
• Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage and prioritize workload
• Experience in utilizing measurement tools and implementing supplier management office practices
1. To qualify for the role, you must have
o Business or Technology based Degree [or relevant preferred degree for role] and/or key demonstrable experience in a similar sized business
o Minimum 8 years of industry experience including experience with technology vendors in a global organisation
2. Ideally, you’ll also have
o Experience with a complex global, culturally diverse organization with 100,000+ employees
o Experience working collaboratively, virtually, and independently
