Job Title: Senior Associate – Transaction Analytics

Service Line: Strategy and Transactions

Role Overview

As a Senior Associate in Transaction Analytics, you will support EY’s Strategy and Transactions practice by delivering data-driven insights across mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate finance engagements. You will work with large and complex datasets to identify value drivers, risks, and trends that inform client decision-making throughout the transaction lifecycle.

You will collaborate closely with EY transaction teams, clients, and other stakeholders, leveraging advanced analytics, financial data, and business intelligence tools to support high-impact transactions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data-driven analysis to support M&A, divestiture, carve-out, and restructuring engagements
  • Analyze large financial and operational datasets to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and value opportunities
  • Support financial due diligence through transaction analytics, including revenue, cost, working capital, and margin analysis
  • Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, Excel, or similar
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear insights and recommendations for clients and senior EY stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including financial due diligence, valuation, tax, and technology
  • Assist in project management activities, including tracking deliverables, timelines, and data requests
  • Review work performed by junior team members and provide coaching and feedback
  • Maintain strong client relationships and demonstrate a professional, client-focused approach
  • Ensure compliance with EY quality, risk management, and confidentiality standards

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • 3–5 years of experience in transaction analytics, financial analysis, audit, consulting, or related fields
  • Strong analytical skills with experience handling large, complex datasets
  • Proficiency in Excel and at least one analytics or BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL)
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and transaction concepts
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in M&A, due diligence, or transaction services
  • Experience with automation, data transformation, or advanced analytics
  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CFA, ACCA, or progress toward one
