Job Description
I&O Platform Infrastructure Dashboard Engineer
Supervising Associate | Enterprise Technology
The opportunity
In a plan to strengthen and extend our footprint in EY Enterprise Technology we are looking for a skilled and innovative Dashboard Engineer to design, build and continuously evolve EY's infrastructure observability and operational intelligence dashboards. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, front-end development and AI-assisted tooling, with a primary mission of making complex infrastructure data accessible, visual and actionable for technical teams and senior leadership alike.
A key focus of this role is providing the data visualization and operational intelligence layer for the Hyperconverged Service Platform (HCSP) — EY's next-generation infrastructure automation platform built on Kubernetes, Temporal and Terraform. The Dashboard Engineer will own the design and delivery of HCSP-facing observability dashboards that surface provisioning status, workflow health, SLA performance, drift detection and multi-data-center operational coverage in real time — giving engineers and stakeholders the self-service visibility that manual processes previously could not deliver.
Your key responsibilities
The I&O Platform Infrastructure Dashboard Engineer designs, develops and maintains a comprehensive suite of operational dashboards and self-service reporting tools across EY's infrastructure estate. This professional combines strong front-end development capability with deep visualization platform expertise and a working understanding of the underlying infrastructure automation platforms — including HCSP — that generate the operational data being visualized.
The role requires a modern, AI-augmented development approach — leveraging tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot Studio, ChatGPT or equivalent AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery, improve code quality and prototype new dashboard experiences rapidly. The engineer will partner closely with the HCSP engineering team, I&O platform engineers and service management stakeholders to translate platform telemetry and operational requirements into polished, high-impact visual products deployed at enterprise scale.
Skills and attributes for success
– Expert-level Power BI dashboard and report development including complex data models, DAX measures, row-level security and Power Query transformations (exclusionary).
– Strong Kibana dashboard development experience — proficiency in KQL, Lens visualizations, Canvas and custom index pattern management (exclusionary).
– Strong Angular front-end development skills for building custom observability portals and embedded dashboard experiences.
– Demonstrated use of AI development tools as a core part of the engineering workflow, including:
– GitHub Copilot or equivalent AI pair-programming assistants
– ChatGPT / Claude or similar LLMs for code generation and review
– Microsoft Copilot Studio for low-code automation and conversational interfaces
– AI-assisted data transformation and ETL acceleration tooling
– Experience building dashboards that consume telemetry from Kubernetes-based platforms — pod health, workflow state, job execution and cluster resource utilization.
– Familiarity with Temporal.io workflow concepts — ability to visualize workflow execution state, retry counts, failure rates and end-to-end provisioning timelines sourced from Temporal telemetry.
– Experience consuming and visualizing data from ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) at enterprise scale.
– Experience building real-time and near-real-time operational dashboards consuming live infrastructure metrics and log streams.
– Proficiency with REST API integration to pull data from HCSP, ServiceNow, monitoring and infrastructure platforms into dashboards.
– Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills for custom Angular component development.
– Experience with Power BI Embedded and workspace API for programmatic report publishing and access control.
– Familiarity with infrastructure data sources and their context, including:
– VM provisioning and lifecycle state data from HCSP order fulfilment
– Drift detection and policy compliance signals from OPA and HCSP audit
– Windows Server and Linux system metrics
– Virtualization and HCI platform telemetry (Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V)
– Network performance, DNS and IP management data
– Storage capacity and I/O metrics
– Experience with data pipeline development to ingest, transform and serve infrastructure and platform data to visualization layers.
– Strong visual design sensibility — ability to produce clean, intuitive, executive-quality dashboard layouts.
– Strong working knowledge of DevOps, Agile, Kanban and ITIL frameworks.
– Ability to work effectively with global engineering and service management teams across multiple time zones.
To qualify for the role, you must have experience with
– Power BI dashboard development, data modelling and DAX authoring — 5–7 years.
– Kibana dashboard and visualization development using KQL — 3–5 years.
– Angular application development (v14+) — 3–5 years.
– TypeScript and JavaScript development — 5–7 years.
– AI-assisted software development tools used actively in production workflows — 3+ years.
– REST API integration for dashboard data ingestion.
– Kubernetes platform telemetry consumption and visualization.
– Workflow orchestration platform observability — Temporal, Argo or equivalent.
– ServiceNow or ITSM data integration for SLA and ticket-correlated dashboards.
– Power Query (M language) and ETL transformation development.
– Elasticsearch query development and index management.
– Power BI Embedded and workspace API administration.
– Git-based version control and CI/CD pipeline integration for automated dashboard deployment.
– Real-time data streaming visualization (WebSockets, server-sent events or equivalent).
– Infrastructure monitoring platform data consumption (Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Prometheus or equivalent).
– Row-level security (RLS) and workspace access control in Power BI.
– Azure Monitor and Log Analytics as data sources (preferred).
– Grafana dashboard development as an additional visualization platform (preferred).
Ideally, you'll also have
– Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) certification (desired).
– Elastic Certified Analyst certification (desired).
– Microsoft Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) or equivalent (better to have).
– ITIL v4 Foundation certification (exclusionary).
– Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Real-Time Intelligence for streaming infrastructure telemetry.
– Experience building Copilot Studio agents integrated with HCSP or observability data.
– Familiarity with OpenTelemetry (OTel) standards as a source of HCSP platform telemetry.
– Experience with D3.js or custom JavaScript charting libraries for advanced visualizations.
– Experience deploying Angular applications in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
