Overall position purpose
To manage and influence the direction and deployment of the core technical learning curriculum in Assurance Oceania. The role requires high energy and enthusiasm and is an excellent opportunity to broaden experiences in the firm and interact with Assurance Leadership on a regular basis.  This role reports to the Oceania Assurance L&D Leader. 

 

Overview
The Assurance L&D Program Consultant assists with implementing core learning interventions that meet the needs of the business in terms of skills development, staff retention, growth of the business and risk minimisation. You will achieve this through managing the development and deployment of certain technical components of the Oceania Assurance Learning Map in line with Global priorities and the Leadership at EY framework. You will liaise directly with key stakeholders such as the Oceania People leader network, Assurance leader, L&D Steering Committee, other Assurance partners and specialist groups to determine learning needs and deploy learning solutions in line with Global Assurance expectations.


Major responsibilities/duties include:

•    Lead the successful deployment of the technical curriculum for staff to Managers and specialist groups
•    Manage key stakeholder relationships
•    Project manage a significant learning technical course portfolio
•    Lead and support the Facilitator pool for relevant courses
•    Lead and support the Assurance L&D coordinator team
•    Facilitate on technical courses
•    Facilitate on various cross service line courses


Qualifications, knowledge & experience
•    Ability to build, develop and positively influence internal client relationships across BU’s and teams
•    Strong communication (written and oral) skills
•    Strong project and time management skills and the ability to implement organisational frameworks as required. In addition, the ability to plan and deliver work in line with cost and time constraints
•    Flexibility and adaptability in terms of dealing with evolving outcomes, timelines, dependencies and stakeholders
•    Maintaining a team focus and demonstrating effective team behaviours
•    Facilitation experience

 

Key Competencies

Project Management
•    Take the lead in project planning for the training, development and execution season for relevant core technical courses
•    Work with the project co-ordinators, Technical learning managers, and other specialist content developers to ensure all materials are delivered within the expected timeframe.  This includes Leader Guides, Participant Materials and Train the Trainer/Briefing sessions.
•    Assist in developing L&D budget forecasts
•    Leverage from existing material and relationships
•    Encourage process improvements and exploration of new ideas to manage the co-ordination and communication of learning

 

Relationship Management
•    Develop strategic relationships that will enable the agreement of content and development of curriculum
•    Work with key stakeholders and specialist areas to ensure programs are developed within agreed timeframes
•    Serve as an advisor and arbitrator when issues or concerns arise from key stakeholders and business units / offices
•    Work with the key stakeholders and Assurance L&D team to address and meet the needs of the business

 

Coaching and developing others
•    Assist the course co-ordinators and other technical learning staff in their development
•    Incorporate learning, experiences and coaching into courses

 

Communication and Influence
•    Adapt existing material and information from business contacts to create cohesive training material
•    Present with clarity and impact to partners, classroom participants and facilitators 
•    Adopt innovative, creative styles and adult learning theory in content development
•    Promote People priorities and strategic priorities of the Assurance practice

 

Change Management
•    Support the behavioural process that will enable individuals, teams and leaders within the Assurance practice to effectively adapt to the newly released Audit Core Curriculum and realise the benefits
•    In relation to the above, a focus on the elements of change management: people coaching, resistance & adoption management, coalition building and organisational values agreement.
