Global Payroll Operate (GPO)
Title: EY GPO Client Solution Senior Manager
Overview
EY Global Payroll Operate (GPO) is a multidisciplinary practice delivering standardized, borderless, and connected payroll services that address the global, regulatory, and human aspects of employee care and compensation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the successful implementation of EY’s global payroll technology solutions for new clients.
Purpose of the Role
As a Senior Manager within the GPO Implementation team, you will lead the technology solutioning for payroll implementations, working closely with clients and internal teams from pre-sales through delivery. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on EY’s payroll technology tools, ensuring implementations meet global standards and client expectations in terms of time, cost, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Implementation Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver the technological components of payroll implementations across multiple countries or regions.
- Manage project scope, resources, timelines, and budgets throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and manage changes to ensure successful delivery.
- Provide regular status updates, metrics, and reports to stakeholders and leadership.
- Develop project plans, estimates, and documentation for all phases of implementation.
- Ensure alignment with EY’s global standards and client-specific requirements.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Support business development activities including RFPs, RFIs, pricing, pitches, and technology demonstrations.
- Articulate EY’s payroll technology capabilities to clients, ensuring clear understanding of functionality and quality assurance.
- Identify opportunities for service expansion or additional EY offerings.
- Participate in feasibility studies and vendor evaluations.
Finance, Quality & Risk Management
- Monitor and manage project financials including billing, budgets, ERP, and margin.
- Define Statements of Work (SOW) and service specifications.
- Support resolution of disputes or contractual issues as needed.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with EY’s QRM standards.
Methodology & Best Practices
- Align technology implementations with client business goals and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the development of templates, tools, and methodologies to enhance implementation capabilities.
- Coach and mentor team members, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development.
- Foster trusted advisor relationships with stakeholders and sponsors.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in project and program management, preferably in payroll or HR technology.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Financial acumen including budgeting and margin management.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Experience in process improvement and change management.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with global payroll systems and implementations.
- Familiarity with EY’s technology platforms and service delivery models.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
