Manager – SAP EC/ECP Payroll (Australia & New Zealand) 
 
This role is responsible for leading end-to-end payroll implementation projects and BAU operations 
for Australia and New Zealand payrolls within SAP Employee Central (EC) and Employee Central 
Payroll (ECP). The Manager will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding both clients and internal 
teams, ensuring high-quality delivery, system accuracy, and adherence to best practices. 
 
General spec plus 
5 – 10 years experience of full end to end Australia and New Zealand payroll processing experience 
EY grade/level: Manager (Rank 32) 
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
Project Delivery & Operational Excellence 
• Deliver full end-to-end SAP EC/ECP payroll implementation projects, including 
requirements gathering, planning, execution, and post-go-live support. 
• Manage and execute BAU payroll activities with accuracy and efficiency across ANZ 
payrolls. 
• Act as a primary point of contact for SAP EC/ECP–related queries and issue resolution. 
• Configure and customize SAP payroll settings to meet client-specific requirements across 
diverse industries and complexity levels. 
• Ensure adherence to payroll policies, controls, and compliance standards; identify and 
report required system or process changes. 
 
Documentation, Processes & Training 
• Develop and maintain payroll procedures, process flows, and documentation to enhance 
operational efficiency and accuracy. 
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders on payroll 
processes, system functionality, and best practices. 
 
Post–Go-Live & System Management 
• Deliver ongoing post–go-live support for SAP EC/ECP clients, including troubleshooting, 
enhancements, and stabilisation activities. 
• Manage SAP system instances and environments as needed to support project and BAU 
requirements. 
• Build, maintain, and refine payroll reports and analytics as required. 
 
Leadership & Team Support 
• Support, guide, and upskill team members on SAP EC/ECP functionalities and payroll 
processing. 
• Foster strong relationships with clients and internal teams to maintain a collaborative, 
positive working environment. 
 
Technical Skills & Qualifications 
• Strong hands-on knowledge in SAP EC/ECP Payroll, including backend configuration. 
• Extensive end-to-end ANZ payroll experience (5–10 years). 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. 
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities. 
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to data integrity. 
• Strong ability to prioritise work, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver under pressure. 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information. 
• Experience with large ERP systems (advantageous but not essential).
