Supervising Associate Portfolio Internal Business Advisor

The opportunity:
We are looking for a Portfolio Internal Business Advisor with strong financial experience, who will play a key role in advising and supporting our internal. client serving partners to make best use of SAP and its processes to effectively manage their portfolios of EY external client projects. The main component of this role is to proactively provide strategic financial advisory support to engagement partners by reaching out through a variety of technological conduits (online chat, phone line, etc.) after using analytics to identify the partner book of business requiring intervention. Your key responsibilities:
As a Supervising Associate your key responsibilities will include the following:
1. Core Portfolio Finance Advisory Responsibilities
The role provides strategic financial advisory support to engagement partners by ensuring teams are well prepared for negotiations and fully aware of downstream financial and SAP implications. It includes guiding the preparation of project completion estimate processes, building strong partnerships with Service Line finance teams, and using analytical insights to drive performance improvements. The PFA also supports SAP and financial management training, ensuring engagement teams apply best practices across all financial processes.
2. Markets Decision Support
This responsibility involves delivering analytical and insights driven support to Markets leadership, including leading Revenue Planning activities and reviewing monthly Market Segment performance. It also requires addressing financial queries from SOLs, maintaining a Center of Excellence for Markets analytics, and driving transformation initiatives to simplify insights. The PFA provides pipeline analytics, supports strategic decision making, and acts as a subject-matter expert on business intelligence tools.
3. Service Line Decision Support
The role conducts in depth financial analyses on engagement performance, builds and maintains staffing leverage models, and provides data driven decision support to Service Line leadership. Responsibilities include producing high value analytics for strategic initiatives, performing regular forecast reviews, supporting assessments of high risk engagements, and conducting detailed Partner Book of Business deep dives. The PFA applies an oversight by exception approach, focusing on areas with significant financial impact.
4. Commercial Finance Responsibilities
This function involves performing comprehensive pricing analyses and scenario modelling while presenting commercial insights to stakeholders. The PFA reviews pricing plans, rate cards, and discount strategies, and provides commercial analysis to support deal evaluation. The role includes attending Deal Review meetings to provide trends and insights, building what if modelling tools for budgeting purposes, and proactively identifying commercial risks along with recommending mitigation strategies.
5. Business Partnership Responsibilities
The role requires building strong, collaborative relationships across both Markets and Service Line teams, partnering closely with MFAs, SLFLs, engagement teams, SOLs, MB, MOL, and other key stakeholders. It involves providing a holistic view that integrates both market and service line perspectives, enabling leaders to make informed decisions. The PFA translates complex financial and operational insights into clear, actionable recommendations that support strategic objectives.
Skills and attributes for success:
• You are fluent and effective English speaker (C2 level)
• You should have minimum 5 years of experience working in a corporate organization, preferably in finance/business/ customer service area
• You have excellent listening skills to provide focused advice, combined with the ability to apply judgment and seek guidance when escalating to a functional expert IS appropriate
• You have exceptional customer service skills, including responsiveness and commitment to quality is one of your strong sides
• Ability to prioritize workload and deliver outputs within strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and partnering skills with people of all levels of the firm
• You have strong Knowledge of financial metrics and dependencies including ability to calculate variances quickly and accurately
