EY – GDS Consulting – Senior PeopleSoft Functional Consultant


Job description
EY Global Delivery Service is seeking a Senior Consultant to serve as a functional expert for the PeopleSoft Financials application. This position analyzes business requirements and develops Business Process Documents (BPD), documents and performs configuration setup, creates functional specifications, understands RICEFW solutions, develops test scripts, and performs test execution. The Senior Consultant collaborates closely with the functional team members, as well as the technical developers, both onsite and offshore. They will work under the supervision of the Manager of the GDS Peoplesoft team.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Collaborate with GDS team members, onshore and client counterparts in understanding/refining business requirements
•    Create Business Process Documents (BPDs)
•    Be able to translate business requirements into functional specifications and create high quality functional design documents
•    Perform configuration setup, including creating configuration workbooks
•    Assist in the test planning, create test scripts and perform test execution
•    Design solutions including customizations and bolt-on solutions within the PeopleSoft environment that meet customer business needs and requests
•    Work to identify and solve functional issues
•    Troubleshoot operational application issues and implement appropriate solutions
•    Follow established change management processes to migrate changes to production environments
•    Analyze customer requests and recommend and design appropriate solutions to meet their needs
•    Work with the PeopleSoft team to design solutions, and translate functional requirements into technical requirements
•    Develop a deep understanding of customer business processes
•    Research new functionality and technologies that can enhance customer business processes and meet business needs
•    Collaborate with ERP colleagues in the research and implementation of new technologies, including training and knowledge transfer

Qualifications
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience as a PeopleSoft analyst/consultant, which includes experience conducting business requirements analysis with technical and non-technical staff
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience as a developer/analyst implementing PeopleSoft Financials, primarily General Ledger, Asset Management and Cash Management, including configuration setup, creation of simple to complex functional designs, creation of test scripts, and test execution
•    Understanding of sound security principles and practices
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Strong initiative and drive
•    Ability to multi-task between projects and applications and to manage multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills
•    Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as independently
•    Ability to adapt to change, keep abreast of technology trends, and learn new skills and technologies

 

Additional skills and attributes for success
•    Knowledge of scheduling software (such as PeopleSoft Process Scheduler) 
•    Knowledge of PS Query tool
•    Familiarity with change management processes
•    Strong experience in creating quality written deliverables (design, test result documentations, configuration workbooks)

 

Education
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related fields or equivalent related experience
