We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer – Staff with expertise in hands on experience on Cloud Engineering and Automation for the EY-Advisory-DET Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a new service offering.

The Digital & Emerging Technologies (DET) practice works with clients to analyse, formulate, design, mobilize and drive digital transformation initiatives. We advise clients on their most pressing digital challenges and opportunities surround business strategy, customer, growth, profit optimization, innovation, technology strategy, and digital transformation.  We also have a unique ability to help our clients translate strategy into actionable technical design, and transformation planning/mobilization.  Through our unique combination of competencies and solutions, EY’s DET team helps our clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by developing strategies to stay ahead of the rapid pace of change and disruption and supporting the execution of complex transformations.

Your key responsibilities

►    Cloud Infrastructure Support: Assist in the deployment, management, and monitoring of cloud resources within Microsoft Azure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
►    Automation & Scripting: Support the development of automation scripts using Azure CLI, PowerShell, or ARM templates to streamline cloud operations and resource provisioning.
►    Collaboration & Learning: Work closely with senior cloud engineers and architects to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in cloud technologies, contributing to team projects and initiatives.
►    Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor cloud infrastructure performance using Azure Monitor and other tools, generating reports and alerts to identify potential issues.
►    Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for cloud configurations, processes, and best practices to support knowledge sharing within the team.
►    Security Practices: Support the implementation of security measures within Azure environments, including identity management, access controls, and compliance checks.
►    Troubleshooting & Support: Provide first-level support for cloud-related issues, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving incidents as they arise.

Skills and attributes for success
►    Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and services, particularly within Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking.
►    Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python, with an eagerness to learn automation techniques.
►    A foundational understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnets, and firewalls, as they relate to cloud environments.
►    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
►    Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
►    A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and best practices in cloud engineering, with a focus on Azure.
►    Any relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are a plus but not required.

Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
►    A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with a sound industry experience of 3 to 5 years.
►    A proactive mindset and a passion for enabling technology-driven business outcomes.
