We’re looking for Senior Cloud Engineer with expertise in hands on experience on Cloud Engineering and Automation for the EY-Advisory-DET Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a new service offering.

The Digital & Emerging Technologies (DET) practice works with clients to analyse, formulate, design, mobilize and drive digital transformation initiatives. We advise clients on their most pressing digital challenges and opportunities surround business strategy, customer, growth, profit optimization, innovation, technology strategy, and digital transformation.  We also have a unique ability to help our clients translate strategy into actionable technical design, and transformation planning/mobilization.  Through our unique combination of competencies and solutions, EY’s DET team helps our clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by developing strategies to stay ahead of the rapid pace of change and disruption and supporting the execution of complex transformations.

Your key responsibilities

►    Cloud Infrastructure Development: Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on major hyperscaler platforms (e.g., Azure) to support business applications and services.
►    Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools such as Terraform for IaC, PowerShell, Bash, Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions or similar to streamline deployment processes and enhance operational efficiency.
►    Collaboration & Support: Work closely with Cloud Architects and other engineering teams to translate architectural designs into practical implementations, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
►    Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
►    Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance measures within cloud environments, ensuring data protection and adherence to regulatory requirements.
►    Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Provide expert-level support for cloud infrastructure issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
►    Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, deployment processes, and operational procedures. Share knowledge and best practices with team members and stakeholders.
►    Continuous Learning & Improvement: Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends, actively seeking opportunities to enhance skills and improve cloud solutions.

Skills and attributes for success
►    Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions, with a strong understanding of cloud services and architecture.
►    Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform, to automate cloud resource provisioning and management.
►    Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and VPNs, and their implications in cloud environments.
►    Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their integration into cloud solutions.
►    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
►    Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
►    Relevant cloud certifications are a plus.

Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
►    A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with a sound industry experience of 5 to 10 years.
►    Experience in enterprise transformation, system migrations, or regulatory environments.
►    A proactive mindset and a passion for enabling technology-driven business outcomes.
