And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.
EY - Consulting – Business Analyst Manager
As part of the Business Analyst team, you will lead a group of business analysts to deliver high impact projects for our clients across the globe. You are expected to provide business analysis expertise, mentor seniors and staff, drive requirements quality, and play an active role in shaping project outcomes across financial services engagements. You will lead client interactions, support proposal development, and participate in key delivery and solution design decisions with architects and consulting leaders. You will also contribute to competency development and play a key role in upskilling the team.
The opportunity
We’re looking for Business Analysts to join the Digital Engineering Competency leadership group of our Consulting practice. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm while helping grow a high demand capability within our service offerings.
Your key responsibilities
Management responsibilities:
• Manage and lead business analysts across large transformation programs delivered in Agile, hybrid, or traditional methodologies.
• Bring strong industry experience in financial services (banking, payments, insurance, lending, or wealth management) with an understanding of processes, controls, regulatory considerations, and operational flows.
• Ensure teams follow the correct requirements‑gathering processes, documentation standards, and project governance across phases.
• Oversee task allocation, capacity planning, and performance evaluation for team members.
• Manage bench strength effectively by monitoring upcoming demand, assigning resources proactively, and ensuring high utilization across the BA team.
• Support project scheduling, resource management, budgeting, and reporting.
• Create and deliver project status updates and executive‑level presentations, including weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
• Engage with client stakeholders to gather requirements, facilitate workshops, and manage expectation alignment.
• Participate as a hands‑on Business Analyst within a development pod team, contributing directly to requirements, user stories, process mapping, and validation activities as part of day‑to‑day delivery.
• Conduct regular team meetings, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of business analysis outputs.
• Provide guidance on best‑practice analysis, solution definition, UAT planning, and process mapping.
• Demonstrate flexibility in responding to project issues and proactively identify improvements to avoid future risks.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and team‑building skills.
• Work closely and iteratively with cross‑functional teams with continuous collaboration.
People responsibilities:
• Foster teamwork, collaboration, and lead by example.
• Participate in and support organization wide people initiatives.
• Ability to travel based on client and project requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an advantage for candidates who can produce high quality documentation or present at conferences.
• Contribute to case teams addressing complex, unstructured business problems.
Skills and attributes for success
Mandatory:
• Strong experience in business analysis across end‑to‑end project lifecycle – requirement gathering, process mapping, user stories, acceptance criteria, business cases, and UAT.
• Solid understanding of core financial services processes such as customer onboarding, payments, lending, insurance (P&C or Life), compliance, or risk.
• Experience working with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel, Visio, SQL, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Deep knowledge of Agile delivery, including backlog management, sprint planning, refinement, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with data analysis, process optimization, and identifying automation or workflow improvement opportunities.
• Exposure to API integration concepts, data flows, and system interaction design.
• Experience in solution validation, functional walkthroughs, and business‑technology alignment.
• Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of requirements standards, documentation best practices, and traceability methods.
Other focus areas:
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum) or scaled Agile environments.
• Understanding of quality assurance concepts, UAT execution, and test planning.
• Exposure to version control and documentation tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality deliverables.
• Experience supporting RFP responses, effort estimation, and high‑level solution design.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as CMMI or similar governance structures.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate business issues into structured requirements.
• Ability to articulate how technology enables measurable business value.
To qualify for the role, you must have
• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience
• Demonstrated experience working in or with organizations in the financial services sector.
• Experience with Agile methods and BA frameworks
Ideally, you’ll also have
• Project management experience.
• Exposure to digital transformation, workflow automation, or system modernization programs.
What we look for
• People with commercial awareness, strong analytical capability, and the curiosity to learn in a fast‑moving environment.
• A collaborative leader who thrives in a multi‑disciplinary team setting and is comfortable working with global teams.
• Professionals who can contribute to the growth of our Consulting practice and deliver exceptional client value.
