Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced engineer who will be responsible for the design, implementation, operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology solutions and services. The role ensures reliability, security, performance, compliance, and scalability while supporting business objectives and transformation initiatives. The engineer applies strong technical expertise, operational excellence, risk management, and architectural best practices to deliver resilient, efficient, and future-ready solutions across various technology domains.
Your Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead the hands-on administration, configuration, policy tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting of Proofpoint and Microsoft Defender for Office 365, including email threat protection, mail flow, quarantine, allow/block controls, alerting, reporting, and platform integrations.
- Govern the end-to-end email service lifecycle, including mailbox management, access controls, retention policies, and platform standards.
- Develop and enforce enterprise email security controls to protect against phishing, malware, spoofing, business email compromise (BEC), and emerging cyber threats.
- Oversee email authentication, mail flow architecture, routing policies, and secure communications across cloud, hybrid, and integrated environments.
- Lead email threat investigations and response activities involving phishing, BEC, impersonation, spoofing, malicious URLs and attachments, compromised accounts, user-reported messages, and other email-borne threats, including threat hunting, campaign analysis, remediation, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and corporate requirements through effective implementation of data protection, archiving, retention, eDiscovery, and governance controls.
- Drive platform lifecycle management, including capacity planning, performance optimization, vulnerability management, patching, upgrades, and technology modernization initiatives.
- Serve as the senior subject matter expert for messaging and collaboration technologies, partnering with cybersecurity, infrastructure, compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, service providers, and technology partners to ensure service quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Develop operational standards, technical documentation, service metrics, and strategic roadmaps while promoting automation, innovation, and service excellence.
- Responsible for decision-making, optimizing processes, resource management, and overseeing team management as needed for task execution.
- Accountable for allocating personnel, supervising team members, assigning tasks, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and support to succeed in their roles and optimizing and evaluating their performance to meet organizational goals.
Skills and attributes for success
- Serve as highly technical security expert to bring security transformation to both new and legacy infrastructure.
- Hands-on enterprise experience administering and supporting Proofpoint and Microsoft Defender for Office 365, including configuration, policy management, tuning, troubleshooting, threat investigation, and remediation.
- Strong understanding of enterprise email security technologies and protocols, including SMTP, DNS, MX records, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, TLS, mail routing, connectors, relays, email headers, and message tracing.
- Deploy new technologies quickly and successfully transition new platforms to the Security Operations Team for ongoing support.
- Embed with project teams to understand complex architectures, apply correct security controls, and ensure they are governable in the future.
- Development of patterns and validation of those patterns through engagement with business and lab work.
- Effective communication that is both written and spoken with great follow-up skills.
- Ability to drive outcomes and become the multidisciplinary expert that enables engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex email security and mail-flow issues across Exchange Online, Proofpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, DNS, SMTP, and integrated security platforms.
- Good presentation, project management, facilitation, and delivery skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Develop and implement automation for email security operations, including threat investigation, remediation, reporting, repetitive administrative tasks, and integration with SOC workflows where appropriate.

- Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Security+, or equivalent security certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Purview, Exchange Hybrid deployments, and email security gateways.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, or similar.
General Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineer, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Possesses expertise in at least two (2) of the identified Infrastructure Security and Cloud Security domains, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience across multiple areas
- 5+ years of experience managing enterprise messaging platforms and email security technologies, Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Proofpoint administration. Strong understanding of email security technologies, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, anti-phishing, anti-malware, and secure mail routing, or:

- 5+ years of experience supporting hybrid messaging environments (Google, Microsoft, etc), Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID integrations. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Security, Compliance, Purview, eDiscovery, and data governance solutions, or:
- 5+ years of experience managing, securing, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms, including security monitoring, operational support, and service performance management. Familiarity with technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, XDR, EDR, ITSM, log management, and monitoring platforms, or:
- 5+ years of expertise in identity services, access governance, authentication, authorization, privileged access management, and hybrid identity integrations. Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, Okta, Ping Identity, CyberArk, SailPoint, and MFA solutions.
- 5+ years’ Experience implementing and maintaining security controls across cloud environments, ensuring secure configuration, compliance, resilience, and risk mitigation. Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Prisma Cloud, Wiz, Lacework, and CSPM/CWPP solutions, or:
- Strong understanding of infrastructure hardening, system security, network protection, and secure configuration management. Experience with Windows Server, Linux, virtualization platforms, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, WAF, and network security solutions.
