GDS Consulting_ Testing QA Engineer Staff

The opportunity

As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through comprehensive test planning, test design, execution, defect management, and reporting activities. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business and customer expectations. The role demands working knowledge of test automation concepts and tools, with hands-on experience in Java-based automation frameworks. Experience in the Insurance domain is highly desirable but not required for Staff role.

Skills and attributes for success

• Experience in the Insurance domain is desirable, with Guidewire Property & Casualty (P&C) knowledge considered a significant advantage.
• Solid understanding of Software Testing Foundations and QA best practices.
• Ability to analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
• Basic understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), test case design techniques, and defect management processes.
• Ability to create and execute test cases based on business requirements, and accurately document test results and defects.
• Exposure to Functional Testing, Regression Testing, and SIT activities, with an understanding of Agile delivery practices.
• Experience executing manual test cases and validating application functionality against defined requirements.
• Experience managing the complete defect lifecycle, including defect identification, logging, tracking, retesting, and closure.
• Knowledge of test automation principles and hands-on experience with automation tools such as Java Selenium. Playwright, TypeScript, and Python is a plus.
• Basic knowledge on REST API testing
• Have good knowledge on Locators, Xpath
• Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and testing activities.
• Experience with Git/GitHub version control.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with Test Data Management and test environment setup.
• Exposure to BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Knowledge of automation frameworks such as Page Object Model (POM).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within Agile and cross-functional delivery teams.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Graduate/Post Graduate with technical background
• 2-5 years of automation consulting experience across multiple platforms and varied domains.
• At least 2 years of experience in test automation is a must
