Position summary

 

Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) professionals provides advisory services including ESG/Sustainability Advisory Sustainability/non-financial reporting, Climate Change and impact assessment studies.

 

The Senior Manager will be responsible for working closely with FAAS leadership, Partners, and Senior Managers on client engagements across regions within EY. The primary responsibility will be consulting with clients on technical sustainability reporting and advisory capabilities; collaborating with partners, senior managers and clients to influence strategy, balancing risk and client expectations; ensuring our engagement team thoroughly understands our clients’ unique needs, ambitions and expectations; building relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamless integrated service; managing performance and identifying opportunities to improve our products and processes.

 

While the Senior Manager will be based out of our Gurgaon/Bangalore/Mumbai/Kolkata/Hyderabad/Manila office, the individual will be required to travel to other countries (short term) for executing the client engagements.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Lead the following FAAS-CCaSS solutions using Global service delivery framework:
    • ESG/Sustainability Advisory
    • Climate Risk Assessment (Transition and Physical Risk)
    • Non-financial Reporting and Assurance
    • Climate Change and Decarbonization including Net-zero Strategy and Commitments
    • Environment Health & Safety
    • Digital platforms on Sustainability/EHS
    • Impact assessment/Outcome measurement

 

  • Provide subject matter expertise and lead engagements
    • Provide subject matter expertise on sustainability and climate risk areas, inter-alia, including risk frameworks, governance, management and measurement, stress testing, strategy, and regulatory expectations
    • Contribute to materials, tools and methodologies to support CCaSS proposition in client meetings, engagements, events, and broader thought leadership
    • Maintain detailed knowledge of global Sustainability regulations and awareness of market trends, competitor activity and offerings
    • Collaborate with global stakeholders on the development and coordination of Sustainability solutions
    • Lead multiple engagements, delivering high quality Sustainability solutions to our clients, including managing the delivery team

    • Develop and implement plans strategic to GDS CCaSS and global CCaSS that contributes to the business growth, recognizing the risks and opportunities of business/ commercial trends.
    • Manage and grow GDS CCaSS services to our multiple regions, with high quality service across all CCaSS engagements, by being connected, responsive and insightful internally and with clients.
    • Identifying new GDS markets for deploying the global delivery model with the GDS Leadership
    • Create short- and long-term business plans but also align them with the Area/Regional CCaSS leaders and their market leadership plans (MLPs). 
    • Focus on developing solutions through the use of technology and data analytics to drive efficiencies in the markets they oversee.

    • Take responsibility of managing risk at the practice and engagement level -maintain independence and objectivity, complying personally (and challenging colleagues’ and teams ‘adherence) with all applicable professional standards, EY policies and regulatory requirements
    • Deliver training on CCaSS methodology and other current market trends and industry issues

 

  • Operational Excellence
    • Strong focus on operational excellence, efficiency, and cost. It is critical to improve overall utilization levels in GDS CCaSS, especially at senior and manager levels, while increasing overall retention and ensuring people development.
    • Work with defined geographies and creating targets for delivered hours. Responsible for successfully monitoring the actual results against the budget for key KPIs like number of hours delivered, utilization, linearity of hours etc

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Post graduate degree in sustainability/environment or engineering (chemical/mechanical/civil) from reputed institutes in the Philippines with a focus on environment, sustainability and climate change issues.
  • 11+ years of experience in the space of climate change, environment and sustainability preferably with reputed consulting firms, financial services institutions or research firms
  • A deep understanding of the marketplace, as well as commonly used terminology, processes and tools
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations such as EBA, ECB, FED, PRA, APRA, HKMA, MAS etc., industry initiatives such as UNEPFI, ShareAction, PRI, SBTI etc. and codes of practice as well as a good understanding of the issues within the Sustainability industry, such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), amongst others
  • Knowledge of climate risk modelling (methodology for assessing Transition risk, Physical Risk and Paris Pathway alignment)  would be a plus
  • Understanding of ESG data, KPIs and data vendors and service providers would be a plus
  • Knowledge of, and experience in preparing sustainability reports and strategies, such as undertaking materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement activities and preparation of internal and external reporting
  • Practical experience with energy and emissions reporting schemes including National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting (NGER) scheme, the Safeguard Mechanism and the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF); as well as climate risk advisory experience such as experience with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Framework.
  • Experience in supply chain sustainability, supply chain risk, procurement, supply chain transformation, transparency and risk-based approaches for supply chain engagement
  • Practical experience in sustainable procurement, change management and sustainability strategy development is desirable
  • Sound understanding of sustainability issues and mega trends across various industry sectors.
