Job Description:
Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) professionals provides advisory services including Accounting and regulatory support for accounting change and special matters; accounting processes and controls support (remediation, long-term contract accounting and cost accounting); GAAP Conversion and implementation; IPO and other public offering assistance and transaction accounting and financial reporting assistance (purchase price allocation).
The Associate should have sufficient amount of experience in Financial Accounting Advisory Services. The person is also expected to display strong technical knowledge in IFRS, US/UK GAAP.
Key Responsibilities include:
Assist in the following FAAS solutions using Global service delivery framework:
- Financial Accounting and Reporting Excellence
- Accounting Processes
- Regulation, Governance and Financing
- Receive direction from the Senior, Manager, Senior Manager and Partner and ensure high quality in delivering client service by executing daily tasks and informing supervisors of engagement status.
- Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion and assist in managing client expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports.
- Assist in research and benchmark client data with respect to industry data.
- Apply independent and objective professional judgment in applying accounting standards to meet engagement expectations, including regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g. guidelines covered in the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations.
Skills & Attributes for Success:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience
- Basic understanding of IFRS or US GAAP, Accounting and assurance concepts
- Good academic background
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and technical writing skills
- Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including
regulations, industry practices and new technologies
- Proficient in MS Office and Outlook
- Team player with strong logical reasoning skills, and the ability to be flexible, multi-task and work under pressure
- Commitment to continuous learning and proactively implementing new processes
