About Risk Management Services (RMS): 
Risk Management Services (RMS) is an internal function within EY GDS (Global Delivery services), responsible for protecting the organization from the risks that may arise from its professional practice. We work closely with all parts of the organization to identify and manage risks, providing coordinated advice and assistance on suite of services like Independence, Conflicts, Compliance, regulatory, policy and security issues as well as dealing with claims and queries regarding ethics. Formed in 2007, the RMS team is growing rapidly as a Center of Excellence for all standardized quality/compliance related activities.

The opportunity
This opportunity will enable the professional to help the firm and its client serving professionals in making right decisions with respect to client & engagement acceptance, in sync with EY internal compliance policies and regulatory framework. This role will assist in evaluating the risks associated with each client & engagement and suggest ways to mitigate them. As an independence professional, this opportunity enables to drive projects for identifying & evaluations risks associates with firm’s audit clients, specifically maintaining firm’s independence with respect to audit clients and helping engagement teams in alleviating them.

The candidate should be comfortable working in an unstructured & complex environment requiring out of box thinking, logical reasoning, sound communication skills and ability to make quick decisions. The candidate should be able to continuously add value to assigned processes and develop solutions for situations that may not have been previously documented.

Your key responsibilities

Technical Expertise: 

•    Conduct research using both systematic and intuitive secondary research techniques
•    Analyze the research findings, draw inferences and conclusions in response to the research requirement
•    Understands key requirements of firm and regulators’ risk management rules and policies
•    Uses analytical and project management methodology and tools
•    Completes all assigned projects/tasks in line with the standard operating procedures 
•    Ensures completeness, accuracy and appropriateness of all task assigned
•    Facilitates and drives the process to completion by timely following up on requests from Onshore
•    Plans and organizes own work and keeps the project managers/key stakeholders informed of status and activities
•    Performs a self-review of the results prior to submitting to the project managers
•    Flags issues/potential challenges to the project managers at an appropriate time so that timely action can be initiated
•    Basic understanding about regulatory bodies like SEBI, SEC, AICPA, PCAOB would be desirable.
•    Knowledge on risk management principles and methodologies would be desirable.

To qualify for the role, you must have
·    A Bachelor's degree, ideally in Finance, Business Management, or any finance‑related field
·    Work Experience: At least 1 year experience in any of the following:
o    Research Analyst roles
o    Finance‑related positions
o    Secondary research work
o    Any relevant analytical or research-focused role
•    Candidates with exposure to handling international customers/client interaction would be preferred.
•    AI background or experience in using AI‑enabled tools for research, data gathering, synthesis, or analytical support is preferred.
•    Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication (both verbal and written) skills in English
•    Intermediate level of knowledge in MS Office 
•    Must be well versed with financial instruments used for investment purposes like Shares, Mutual Funds, Insurance etc.
•    Well acquainted with terminologies like ISIN, CUSIPs etc.

Ideally, you’ll also have
•    Knowledge on difference between risk advisory and risk management
•    Presentation skills, including public speaking and presentation creation using PowerPoint or a similar program
•    Critical thinking skills with the ability to independently solve problems with data

Technologies and Tools 
•    Experience in MS office suites like Microsoft 365, MS excel, PowerPoint
•    Knowledge and in hand experience of Share Point will be an added advantage.Working proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and workflow trackers or ticketing tools.
•    Ability to quickly learn and navigate proprietary RMS/Independence systems, research tools, and approval platforms.
•    Familiarity with data visualization or analytical tools is a plus (e.g., Power BI).
•    Knowledge and in hand experience of Share Point will be an added advantage.
