Visual Collaboration Designer, Design Strategy Associate
Job description
At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.
We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.
Join EY and help to build a better working world.
Visual Collaboration Designer (Design Strategy Associate)
The opportunity
Based in our Sydney office, as our Visual Collaboration Designer you’ll make the biggest impact by helping to bring ideas, workshops and workspaces to life creatively - enabling better conversations, new ways of thinking and innovative ways of getting work done. We count on you to consult, art-direct and deliver good creative design in service of a better working world.
With EY wavespace, you'll work with EY teams and clients to understand the strategic outcomes a client is seeking and deliver meaningful collaborative workshops and other experiences to achieve those results.
You will be primarily responsible for the development and rollout of experience design elements, to support the effective delivery of workshops and other collaborative experiences.
In the role, you will:
- Own visual, environmental, and multimodal design work for a range of client experiences.
- Learn about and apply Collaborative Design methodologies – the set of approaches we use at EY wavespace (drawing on MGTaylor, Design Thinking, Human-Centred Design) to help groups solve complex problems in an accelerated timeframe.
- Craft a wide range of experiences drawing on principles from various fields - including infographic design, typography, exhibition design, broadcast graphics, editorial design, collateral design - for digital, print and mixed media.
- Work and thrive in a multi-speed environment, working at pace to develop rapid, simple, and crisp "just-in-time" experiences when needed - and slowing down a little to create beautiful, bespoke content when the situation calls for it.
- Think and design strategically - always trying to connect the dots between business, organisations and how design can make impact at macro and micro levels.
We need someone who…
- Is a talented, experienced and innovative communication designer, experience designer, art director or graphic designer.
- Is willing - and able - to tackle complex challenges - to a level outside the traditional 'lane' of an art director. This could include interaction design, environmental design, business and design research and facilitation.
- Can use a range of AI tools to augment and enhance the impact of their work.
- Wants to help people and organisations solve big problems. You’re keen to learn and explore new ways of working - and you're open to learning the craft of collaboration design.
- Is skilled in creating illustrations of business ecosystems, exhibition graphics, user interfaces - but also happy to get their hands dirty creating spreads and decks that tell an engaging business story.
- Will bring everything that visual and creative execution can add to uplift and enhance engagement within workshops and collaborative work environments. Animation, video, web 3.0 and 'creative technology' might also be spaces you like to play.
- Wants to blur the edges of their craft in an environment where you'll constantly learn from others and do work that has a real impact in the world.
Skills and attributes for success
Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
- You have most likely worked as a mid-senior creative, with interests and abilities that stretch beyond the traditional bounds of those roles.
- You have been in the creative industry for 5+ years and have worked on a variety of industries and projects, preferably had experience in different international markets.
- You have at least 3 years' experience in client-facing and consultative roles and are comfortable leading a conversation or design process to move from ambiguity to clear requirements.
- You’re excited to lean into the world of Collaboration Design – to help facilitate and bring workshops (and our workspace) to life.
- You can use a range of creative design platforms and tooling (including AI tools, Microsoft Office and, of course, the Adobe Suite).
As part of the application process, you’ll be asked to provide a portfolio showcasing your design work.
