Strategic Communications Leader – Clients & Industries
The opportunity
As our Strategic Communications Leader – Clients & Industries you’ll play a critical role in crafting and delivering communication programs, key messages, and ensuring alignment with our corporate vision and values.
This role is strategic, entrepreneurial, practical and relational. You will be proactively identifying opportunities for EY to contribute to public discourse and exert network influence in support of EY Oceania’s objectives. You will work closely with the Director of Communications to ensure that EY’s positioning in market supports the firm’s strategic agenda.
The role is based in Naarm – Melbourne / Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a whole-of-firm, client-focused narrative to our people and the market, including new key strategic investment areas and market plays that enable EY Oceania to enter/grow in specific markets/industries/capability areas.
- Connect our Oceania CI strategy to the refreshed EY Global strategy, helping to translate how we are activating the strategy in our region and helping create connections so that people see how they contribute.
- Redevelop and lead a whole-of-firm approach to communicating client wins, working collaboratively with Markets Operations Leaders, Business Development, Brand Marketing and Strategic Communications teams to streamline the process, credentialise our capabilities, build pride and support efforts to create case studies for BD/client conversations.
Skills and attributes for success
- Proven experience (8+ years) in strategic communications leadership roles with a track record of successfully shaping executive narratives and influencing public opinion.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of the full potential of the Clients & Industries portfolio to drive organisational strategy and objectives.
Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
- High level relationship management and interpersonal skills, including appreciating the nuances of the Clients & Industries networks and relationships at a deep level.
- Proof-reading, sub-editing and advice on content development.
- Ability to serve as trusted counsel for the Clients & Industries Leader.
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication.
