EY Studio+ is one of the region’s largest insights, innovation and customer experience design practices. Its Market Research & Customer Insights team—formerly Sweeney Research, with over 50 years of history—became part of EY in 2014 and now operates as a fully integrated end‑to‑end research practice within Studio+.

 

The opportunity

 

We work differently: combining deep research capability with EY Studio+’s broader design, innovation and transformation expertise. Our team partners with commercial, government and non‑profit clients on complex, high‑impact projects and contributes to flagship EY thought leadership globally.

We are looking for people to join our Studio+ team as a Senior Research Consultants, who are passionate about understanding customers and communities, driven in your career ambitions, committed to creating meaningful change and making a difference for their clients.

Roles are available in both Warrang – Sydney  and Naarm – Melbourne. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Contribute across the full project lifecycle, working with researchers and consultants on qualitative and quantitative studies that inform CX, product and service transformation.
  • Develop client‑ready materials including project designs, research instruments (e.g., discussion guides, questionnaires) and insight‑driven reports, supported by data analysis and visualisation.
  • Mentor and motivate team members through on‑the‑job coaching, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and innovative project environment.
  • Work with datasets to generate high‑quality insights and ensure rigorous quality control across surveys, data and client deliverables.
  • Support business development through contributions to proposals and RFP responses.

 

What we look for     

 

To be considered for this role you must have:

 

  • 2–4 years’ research and insights experience (agency or consulting), with strengths in quantitative and/or qualitative research and the ability to turn findings into actionable strategy.
  • Strong analytical, interpretation and writing skills, demonstrated through transforming data into insights and business recommendations.
  • Effective end‑to‑end project management, including managing competing timelines and delivering to milestones.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

 

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with Q, SPSS, Qualtrics or DisplayR for analysis or data collection.
  • Strong client engagement, presentation and mentoring capability.
