Senior Manager - Technology Risk - Financial Services

The opportunity

As our Senior Manager, you will possess a deep understanding of the latest technology risk trends and regulations, coupled with exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with senior client stakeholders. As a leader in our Financial Services Technology Risk practice, you will play an integral role in shaping our approach to technology risk assurance and advisory engagements and in fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation and continuous improvement.

This is a hybrid position based in Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex Technology Risk engagements, including external audit IT support, regulatory compliance reviews (CPS 234 and CPS 230), IT internal audit, information security risk assessments and controls testing, AI governance, risk and control assessments, and controls assurance reports (e.g., SOC 1, SOC 2, ASAE 3150, and GS 007).
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior-level technology leaders and business stakeholders, to help them understand, prioritise and address current and emerging technology risks.
• Manage and grow client relationships, identify opportunities to better serve clients and support business development activities across Financial Services Assurance.
• Partner across EY service lines and teams to bring the right capabilities together for our clients.
• Lead and mentor our people, build capability within Technology Risk, support our people’s development and drive team performance through recruitment, coaching, training and team culture.
• Contribute to Technology Risk practice development including thought leadership, go-to-market activity, solution development and Financial Services sector offerings.

Skills and attributes for success

• 7+ years of experience in Technology Risk, with a proven track record in assessing complex IT environments.

• Relevant Technology Risk qualifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, or equivalent) that demonstrate your commitment to the field.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field,

• In-depth knowledge of IT audit methodology, financial services regulations, Technology Risk management, and IT governance and controls.
• Familiarity with APRA prudential standards (e.g. CPS 230, CPS 234) and their application to Technology Risk, operational resilience and risk management practices. A result orientated and commercially client focused mindset.
• Understanding of and experience in operational resilience within financial services, including critical operations, tolerance for disruption, and risks arising from third-party dependencies.
