Senior Manager – Program Risk Management - Risk Transformation

This is a hybrid position that can be based in Naarm – Melbourne; Meanjin – Brisbane or Warrang – Sydney.
As a Senior Manager you join the Risk Consulting team and be responsible for leading and managing Risk Transformation engagements across a range of industries. In this role you will focus on delivery of EY’s Program Risk Management (PRM) services to strengthening our clients Portfolio, Program and Project governance, risk management, and control environments through the delivery of risk-based, data-led, and value-adding services. These services can include project delivery confidence assessments, bespoke program assurance services and PMO maturity uplift advisory engagements. It requires strategic oversight, technical expertise, stakeholder management capability, and team leadership to deliver high-quality program assurance outcomes.

Your key responsibilities
Leadership and Delivery
- Lead and manage a portfolio of PRM services and associated portfolio, program and project advisory engagements, ensuring alignment with client strategies and risk profiles.
- Oversee all phases of engagement delivery, including planning, scoping, fieldwork, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide insights and recommendations that enhance governance, risk management, delivery confidence and stakeholder transparency.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality assurance processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Ensure all work adheres to professional standards, EY methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
Client and Stakeholder Management
- Maintain effective relationships with client executives, Steering Committees, Boards, Audit Committees, and management teams.
- Support client organisations in strengthening their portfolio, program and project assurance frameworks.
- Contribute to business development activities including proposals, presentations, and thought leadership.
- Prepare high-quality reports and presentations that clearly communicate program assurance findings and strategic insights.
People and Practice Development
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff across multiple engagement teams.
- Support capability development and knowledge sharing within the Risk Transformation and wider Risk Consulting practice.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of PRM methodologies, tools, and templates.
- Promote innovation and the use of digital audit tools, analytics, and technology-enabled assurance approaches.
Technical and Strategic Contribution
- Apply a sound understanding of Project Management and risk management frameworks and methodologies
- Provide subject matter expertise on program and project maturity, assurance frameworks, governance design, and performance measurement.
- Lead or support transformation programs to uplift PRM functions, including strategy development and future state design.
- Collaborate with other EY service lines (e.g. Technology Risk, Cyber, ESG, Financial Audit) to deliver integrated assurance solutions
Skills and attributes for success
- Proven specialist expertise relevant to the role (Infrastructure, Technology, Energy Industries)
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams through coaching, inclusion, and collaboration.
- Experience in operating in alignment with program and project management methodologies including:
MSP – Managing Successful Programmes
PRINCE2 – project governance and control
PMBOK / PMI standards – project management body of knowledge
MoP – Management of Portfolios
Agile / Scrum / SAFe
- Assignment delivery - requirements, performance & presentation of results
- Business development, opportunity management, account & relationship management
- Leadership - problem solving & decision making, performance management, coaching & mentoring
