Senior Manager - Financial Services Tax Digital Products Lead
The opportunity
EY is the only professional services organisation with a dedicated team exclusively focused on the financial services sector. As part of our Global Financial Services Organisation (GFS), you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geographies to deliver a truly global perspective to high-profile clients.
Our integrated approach draws on expertise across service lines to support key industry groups—Wealth and Asset Management, Banking & Capital Markets, and Insurance. We advise clients across Asia-Pacific on transformation strategies that drive sustainable competitive advantage, respond to regulatory change, and elevate workforce capability.
Our team is renowned for delivering operational transformation through operating model redesign, productivity uplift, cost optimisation, and simplification. We leverage automation, robotics, and advanced analytics to enable data-driven decision-making and scalable solutions.
We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced technologist to co-lead our Tax Transformation agenda. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of financial services tax delivery—driving innovation, embedding AI capabilities, and developing scalable digital products that redefine client value. You’ll work at the intersection of tax, law, and technology—partnering with senior stakeholders to design and implement solutions that transform how we operate and deliver services. This is a strategic, hands-on role with significant visibility and impact.
As our Financial Services Tax Digital Product Leads, you’ll be working alongside several teams in EY across the region to deliver the best solution for the practice and our clients.
This is a hybrid position based in Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Practice Transformation: Champion ongoing improvements in tax and law processes by harnessing digital innovation and ethical AI, while collaborating with practice leaders to advance digital initiatives.
- Product Management: Lead the development, implementation, and scaling of digital products in collaboration with a team of low-code engineers. This includes (with the support of a broader team and direction from the Tax Technology Lead) oversight and participation in requirement gathering and functional documentation drafting, user story creation and prioritisation, technical architecting, code/workflow reviews, orchestration of end-user testing, onboarding and training and post-go-live hypercare. Manage technology roadmaps, requirements, user testing, and ensuring transparency through refined product metrics.
- Emerging Technology Adoption: Work with EY’s AI Centre of Excellence to design and implement AI solutions for tax and finance, and evaluate new technologies to enhance service and client outcomes.
- Go-to-Market Support: Support pursuit and engagement teams with tech demonstrations pricing strategies and proposal responses, and coordinate with compliance and risk teams to address technology-related inquiries in RFPs.
Skills and attributes for success
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in accounting, business, or finance (such as CA, CPA, or CFA), with 6-8 years’ experience in product management, technology consulting, or internal tech roles (including business analyst or solution architect).
- Expertise in product management principles, agile delivery, and proficiency with low/no-code platforms like Microsoft Power Platform, Alteryx, and Bubble.
- Solid understanding of tax, finance, and law operations within public practice, with the ability to manage competing priorities and consistently deliver outcomes.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the capacity to distil complex processes and communicate them clearly.
- Demonstrated experience leading change, driving adoption, and possessing an organised, analytical, and solutions-oriented mindset.
Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with accounting, consolidation, and reporting tools.
- Exposure to automation, GenAI, and Agentic AI.
