We are looking for experienced tax professionals to become an integrated part of our team, including high quality Senior Tax Managers with 6-10 years professional services or industry experience.
As our Corporate Tax Senior Manager, you will be central to delivering pragmatic solutions to help our clients solve complex tax matters and efficiently manage their tax responsibilities. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with our skilled and experienced professionals in Sydney and Brisbane to deliver innovative solutions that help our clients meet their tax obligations while maximizing their business outcomes. Our team is dedicated to staying ahead of the curve when it comes to regulatory and legislative changes, so we can provide our clients with timely and effective advice that meets their unique needs. By joining our team, you will play an integral role in helping our clients navigate the complex tax landscape and achieve their goals, as well as playing a key role in our continued growth strategy.
This role can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the leadership team to coordinate and manage the provision of taxation services for an allocated book of corporate clients, overseeing day-to-day operations, corporate income tax compliance, and the preparation and review of income tax returns and accounting calculations.
- Deliver a full spectrum of corporate taxation advisory and compliance services tailored to client needs, while supporting senior team members in complex tax engagements, including ATO risk reviews, audits, and ruling application processes, with the backing of Australia’s top tax technicians.
- Lead and mentor the team, including managers, senior consultants, consultants, and graduates, by acting as a 'Counsellor' for junior members, fostering their career development, and contributing to a positive team culture that promotes high performance, collaboration, and celebrates successes.
Skills and attributes for success
- Possess detailed knowledge and experience with the Australian taxation system, acquired through work in a professional services firm or a comparable industry role, along with expertise in corporate income tax compliance calculations, processes, and ATO lodgement obligations.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and confidence in leading direct engagements with clients on substantive tax matters and coordinating various engagements, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in all interactions.
- Hold a CA qualification or equivalent, or have completed other postgraduate studies (e.g., Tax Masters), with technical knowledge of IFRS and Tax Accounting considered an advantage, though not essential.
Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
- Willingness and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
- Attention to detail and task oriented.
