Senior Manager – Financial Services Audit
The opportunity
As our Senior Manager in the Financial Services Audit practice, you will help our clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and providing meaningful insights. You will anticipate risk, team effectively across EY, and identify opportunities to enhance trust, focusing on overall audit quality, and building excellent client relationships. You will focus on account strategy and delivery, maximising the possibilities from data and technology.
This position based in Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Manage the audit engagement by defining audit strategy and executing it in compliance with our policies and protocol.
- Effectively manage the audit process with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and technical matters.
- Be accountable for the budget, delivery and performance of complex processes, solutions and/or projects to achieve performance objectives.
- Lead and manage fieldwork on clients’ sites including liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the audit process.
- Lead teams to achieve performance objectives, maintain staff utilisation, and oversee the work of junior audit staff, providing guidance, support, and training.
Skills and attributes for success
- At least 8 years’ experience of external audit experience, including planning, execution and reporting on audits.
- A relevant degree and/or progress towards/completion of a recognised accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Expertise in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management.
- The ability to develop and maintain deep relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and providing value added recommendations.
- The ability to create a positive learning culture, and coach and counsel junior team members to help them to develop.
- The ability to generate innovative solutions.
