The opportunity

 

We are looking for a Senior Manager within the Technology Transformation team in our Sydney offices.

EY Technology Consulting acts as a strategic transformation partner to a wide range of financial institutions to help define and deliver their business and technology objectives. We assemble the right multi-disciplinary teams, use consistent and proven global methodologies and tools, and draw on the full breadth of EY’s global network, to deliver value and trusted advice to our clients. Our service offerings include but are not limited to technology strategy, technology enabled transformation, enterprise architecture, technology operations and service resilience.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

Engage with our Financial Services clients in developing their IT, digital and innovation agenda, and support them on their Transformation journey.

 

  • Supporting assessment, design and implementation of transformation programs
  • Aligning technology and business by helping clients make the right technology choices, and establishing technology roadmaps and architecture direction for technology to deliver on the overall business purpose and strategy
  • Collaborating with clients to develop IT operating models that deliver sustainable, long term value to the organisation
  • Assessing the client’s IT capability, qualitatively and quantitatively, in multiple categories and determining how effectively IT functions operate and where change and investment are necessary
  • Assessing, defining, establishing and implementing IT governance structures including policies, processes, roles/responsibilities tools and procedures
  • Supporting clients to integrate acquisitions (or divest assets) efficiently while delivering on the integrated business purpose and achieving synergy targets
  • Managing and improving the performance of IT operations, including financial management, strategic sourcing, contract management, asset management and delivery management
  • Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors, leading the client relationship across multiple levels
  • Develop and maintain contact with stakeholders (internal and external) to organise and lead engagement teams, maximise program success, expand the current program offering and enhance the quality of existing program(s)
  • Participate and lead proposal development including the pricing strategy in line with the business’ processes
  • Provide professional and strategic leadership regarding best practice delivery approach, project metrics and overall project quality

 

Skills and attributes for success
 

  • Experience as a Technology consultant within the financial services sector (Banking, Insurance, Wealth)
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and manage senior client stakeholder relationships
  • Proven experience in engaging and collaborating with a range of business stakeholders to develop ongoing working relationships that achieve positive outcomes
  • Dedication to teamwork and integrity within a professional environment
  • Ability to manage diverse and inclusive teams to deliver quality outcomes
  • Ability to identify and understand clients’ business issues and scope and develop projects into commercially viable proposals
  • Strong business development, project delivery and project management skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing our Technology Transformation service offerings
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, client service and consulting skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple communications that the business can understand
  • Extensive experience in mentoring and coaching team members

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • At least 8-10 years of overall relevant work experience
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in consulting or professional services
  • Certifications in areas including project management, architecture, IT service management are highly desirable
