Senior Consultant – Finance and Tax Transformation – Financial Services Tax

 

 

The opportunity

 

 

We’re seeking a motivated Senior Consultant to join our dynamic Finance and Tax team to help add value to our Financial Services Sector clients on their transform and operate projects.

 

In this client-facing role, you will support clients across Banking & Capital Markets, Insurance and Wealth & Asset Management as they transform their finance and tax functions. You will help organisations improve efficiency, enhance operating models and prepare for the evolving impact of data, automation and AI. This role is critical in transforming our clients’ sourcing model to be more efficient, either in a single country or across multiple regions, and helps to ensure their Finance and Tax teams are set up for success into the future.

 

This is a hybrid position based in Warrang – Sydney or Naarm - Melbourne. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Support finance and tax function assessments, identifying improvement opportunities and contributing to target operating model design
  • Gather and analyse data to understand current-state processes through stakeholder interviews and process walkthroughs
  • Analyse, optimise and support the redesign of processes, including the application of technology, automation and data solutions
  • Contribute to project delivery, including supporting implementation activities, stakeholder management and preparing clear, high-quality outputs

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

We are looking for individuals who are proactive, curious and motivated to drive change, with a strong sense of initiative and ownership. You will bring a collaborative mindset, enjoy working in a client-facing environment and be confident building relationships and delivering impactful outcomes.

 

  • Background in Finance, Tax or related advisory/consulting areas, through qualifications (CA, CPA or CFA) or equivalent experience.
  • Keen interest in transformation, including process improvement, data, automation and emerging technologies such as Gen AI and Agentic AI.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts clearly
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
