The opportunity
We are looking for individuals with a passion for tax and applying it a fast-paced, commercial setting to join our market leading international tax and transactions practice. We are a dynamic, diverse and energetic team that is looking to grow.
As a Tax Senior Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert tax structuring, tax advisory, due diligence and other transaction support to a diverse range of clients, including private equity, large multinationals and managed funds across a broad range of sectors such as healthcare, real estate, infrastructure, technology, consumer and life sciences.
You will also be at the forefront of addressing the international and domestic aspects of income tax and advising on critical income tax matters for corporates, trusts and partnerships.
You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most significant and complex transactions and international projects in the market with the opportunity to accelerate your personal learning and growth, while mentored by leading experts in the space.
Working closely with your team and collaborating with other subservice lines and our global EY network, you will deliver exceptional client service by ensuring the provision of high-quality and timely solutions.
This position is based in Warrang - Sydney, and you will be working as part of a national team. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Advising clients on domestic and international tax matters associated with all aspects of the M&A life cycle, including due diligence, structuring and other advisory engagements.
- Preparing tax opinions and reports on a variety of domestic and international tax matters, including supply chains, fund structures, capital structures, and global reorganisations.
- Project managing both clients and internal teams to ensure a multidisciplinary project is delivered seamlessly across specialties and geographies.
- Building and maintaining client relationships by understanding and anticipating their needs and providing exceptional client service.
- Providing support and guidance to junior team members, while staying up to date with tax law changes and industry trends.
Skills and attributes for success
- At least 2 years’ experience in Australian tax consulting in a tax consulting, corporate or legal tax environment. While not essential, prior income tax compliance experience will be a plus.
- Strong tax research skills.
- Ability to adapt and adopt technology solutions, including AI.
- Ability to succinctly and clearly communicate complex tax concepts to clients in writing and verbally.
- Experience working in a team environment.

- Inbound and outbound transaction consulting with international tax research, and/or tax due diligence, deal structuring, and post-acquisition planning experience.
- Experience managing budgets, projects and people.
- Ability to develop relationships with clients and provide a high level of client service.
