Oceania Data Lead
The opportunity
This is a defining Data leadership role for EY Oceania.
As the Oceania Data Lead, you will activate the region’s data strategy to power AI at scale. You will be accountable for ensuring data across Oceania is trusted, governed, discoverable and fit for purpose to enable AI Ready services and client solutions.
Aligned to the global data network and EY.ai Ready Data priorities, you will lead how Oceania strengthens data foundations, accelerates adoption of AI Ready data products and scales synthetic data as a strategic growth capability.
This role is pivotal to translating data strategy into enterprise impact, embedding disciplined governance and enabling the business to deliver AI driven outcomes built on secure, compliant and commercially valuable data.
This role can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
Activate the Oceania Data Strategy
• Drive execution of the Oceania data strategy aligned to global AI Ready Data priorities
• Translate global data frameworks into practical regional implementation that accelerates adoption
• Partner with Service Lines and Technology leaders to position data as a strategic enabler of AI led growth
Strengthen Data Governance and Trust
• Establish and continuously enhance governance frameworks across the region
• Ensure clear ownership, classification and accountability for data assets
• Embed consistent standards for data quality, security, lifecycle management and regulatory compliance
• Enable governance that supports responsible AI
Enable AI Ready Data and Analytics
• Partner with data product managers to enable the adoption of governed and discoverable data products
• Support integration of AI Ready data products into client engagements and internal solutions
• Promote reuse and measurable value from regional data assets
• Coordinate regional analytics efforts to generate insights that inform business decisions and improve service delivery
Advance Synthetic Data as a Strategic Capability
• Support implementation of synthetic data initiatives to enhance privacy and enable secure testing and model training
• Establish oversight and guardrails for responsible use of synthetic and derived data
• Partner with Risk and Technology to ensure alignment with regulatory and firm standards
• Enable safe innovation through controlled use of synthetic datasets
Skills and attributes for success
• Experience leading enterprise data strategy activation in complex organisations
• Strong understanding of governance, regulatory compliance and risk management
• Experience driving adoption across multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of AI Ready data principles and privacy enhancing techniques
• Executive level stakeholder engagement and influence
