In your role, you will not only help our clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements, but also value start-ups and mature companies, perform operational due diligence reviews, map and test process and controls and a broader range of related services. In most interactions you will be expected to liaise with senior client personnel and will be encouraged to attend a number of industry events representing EY. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our EY Law, EY Tax, and EY Valuations and Business Modelling teams in serving our clients, providing you the opportunity to broaden your skill sets and knowledge.  

 

As our Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage the audit engagement by defining audit strategy, in consultation with the Senior Manager / Partner, and executing it in compliance with our policies and protocol
  • Engaging clients and providing advice and professionalism throughout transactions, including identification of areas for improvement in clients’ business processes
  • Effectively managing Audit processes with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters, such as financial instruments
  • Lead and manage fieldwork on clients’ sites including liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the Audit process
  • Expertise in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters
  • Effectively managing Audit processes with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters, such as financial instruments
  • Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues
  • Expectation for contribution to the business

  

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in delivering external audit and assurance engagements
  • Experience leading the planning, execution and reporting on audits
  • Proven track record with developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management
  • At least 5 years’ experience as an auditor
  • A strong academic record, including a degree. CA or equivalent recognised by the CAANZ desirable, however will consider those with alternative accounting qualifications
