We are looking for an experienced Manager to join our Financial Services Transfer Pricing team based in Sydney. Our Financial Services Transfer Pricing team is the market leader in international tax, helping our clients navigate through periods of complexity and significant change.

 

This role will support our clients in managing compliance obligations, designing transfer pricing models and navigating tax authority views and disputes including Advance Pricing Agreements and Mutual Agreement Procedures. We specialise in Banking Capital Markets, Wealth and Asset Management, Insurance, Payments and Private Equity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Australian Taxation Office (ATO) transfer pricing reviews and audits based on economic principles.
  • Formulate, recommend, and implement global tax transfer pricing policies for multinational companies in the financial services sector.
  • Assist in negotiating Advance Pricing Arrangements with the Australian Taxation Office and other tax authorities and preparing Mutual Agreement Procedure applications.
  • Analyse the impact of international tax policies and prepare recommendations on their consequences from an Australian tax and transfer pricing perspective.
  • Model financial outcomes of cross border debt and global trading arrangements, return on assets and profit splits.
  • Provide fully integrated approaches to transfer pricing, by preparing documents/data files/models in the fulfilment of our client’s compliance obligations.
  • Project manage multiple engagements to ensure they are delivered to time and budget.
  • Leading the team to develop and grow the careers of a culturally and gender diverse team.

 

 

What we’re looking for

 

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

  • At least 5 to 6 years of Transfer Pricing experience within a top tier accounting firm, corporate, tax consulting or legal environment
  • Good drafting skills, ability to apply facts to Transfer Pricing legislation and to advise on the implications of this to clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in assimilating complex information and data sources to provide a succinct and well-informed recommendation to the client.
  • Strong teaming and leadership skills with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to abreast of wider legal, economic, environmental and political factors that influence transfer pricing.
  • Exceptional client service orientation and a collaborative approach to teaming.
  • Financial modelling, Excel skills, AI skills and Bloomberg skills would also be a benefit.
  • Economics degree, Accounting degree, Legal degree, Certified Practising Accountant, Chartered Accountant.
  • Financial services experience is not necessary but preferred.
