The opportunity

 

As a Manager in our Risk Transformation Team, you will support leading Australian and Global organisations by assessing, designing, implementing and operationalizing innovative approaches to risk management, in support of enhanced decision making and strategy execution.

This is a hybrid position which could be based in Meanjin – Brisbane, Naarm – Melbourne, or Warrang – Sydney. The role could be adjusted to enable flexible working, across our National Risk Transformation Practice.  

Your key responsibilities

To lead engagements for public and private sector clients including:

  • Assessing conformance of risk management approaches with better practice as defined in the ASX Corporate Governance Principles, AS / NZS ISO 31000:2018 - Risk management guidelines, and other, relevant better practices.
  • Designing and embedding fit‑for‑purpose risk management frameworks aligned to recognised standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Conduct risk ‘deep dives’ to support an understanding of key causes, consequences and necessary controls in place to manage risk within appetite.
  • Facilitating risk assessments to support operational and strategic risk management.
  • Facilitating risk appetite workshops to define and embed risk appetite to support improved decision making within boundaries.
  • Translate risk insights into practical, business‑aligned recommendations that improve decision‑making and performance.
  • Draft high‑quality client deliverables, including board and executive‑level reports, risk frameworks, policies and implementation roadmaps.
  • Support the adoption of GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools and technology-enabled risk solutions. 
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, overseeing project delivery and ensuring high-quality client service.
  • Engage with client leadership to report on engagement outcomes, and provide strategic guidance in support of risk management outcomes.
  • Support business development through tender response compilation / proposal preparation.

Skills and attributes for success

  • 5+ years’ experience in enterprise risk management and/or internal audit and compliance services.
  • Strong understanding of better practice risk management approaches, and regulatory guidance.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment tools, compliance standards (ISO, ITIL, etc.), and audit techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
