The opportunity

As a Manager in People Consulting - HR Transformation, you will help organisations improve their HR functions by turning business strategies into practical HR solutions and technology-driven improvements. You'll join a growing and ambitious team, giving you the opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the practice and take advantage of new career opportunities as it expands. In this role, you'll work alongside talented and supportive colleagues, develop new skills, and gain exposure to the latest HR trends and digital tools. You'll also be part of a diverse and inclusive culture where different perspectives are valued, helping teams deliver better outcomes in a rapidly changing business environment.

This is a hybrid position based in Naarm – Melbourne / Canberra – Ngambri / Meanjin – Brisbane / Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead workstreams and small-to-medium engagements that help clients transform HR, Payroll and Workforce Management outcomes.
  • Act as a direct point of contact for client and EY teams, building trusted relationships, maintaining proactive communication and bringing market, sector and HR transformation insights into client conversations.
  • Develop project plans, manage delivery activities, budgets and resources, and escalate scope, quality or delivery risks in a timely and constructive way.
  • Create impactful client deliverables and recommendations by combining data, analysis and HR transformation expertise to improve HR services, operating models, technology and workforce experience.
  • Support business growth and team development by contributing to proposals and pursuits, coaching consultants and senior consultants, and leveraging approved AI tools to enhance project outcomes and client value.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong understanding of core HR processes across the hire-to-retire lifecycle, including talent acquisition, learning, performance, rewards and employee experience.
  • Experience in HR transformation, HR operations, workforce transformation or other people-function improvement roles, with the ability to translate business and people requirements into practical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and project delivery skills, including managing workstreams, facilitating discussions and delivering high-quality outcomes in complex environments.

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Exposure to HR service delivery models, including Shared Services, HR Business Partnering and Centres of Excellence.
  • Experience working with HR technology platforms (e.g., HRIS, payroll, workforce management or employee experience solutions) and contributing to transformation or implementation projects.
  • A collaborative mindset with experience coaching others, plus an interest in emerging HR trends, AI, automation and digital technologies.
