 Manager – Forensics & Integrity Services - Claims and Disputes 

 

The opportunity

 As our Manager within the Forensics & Integrity Services (FIS) team you will be working on some of the largest, high-profile disputes, investigations and regulatory matters in one of the most exciting areas of professional services. You will work alongside an experienced leadership group that is focused on driving growth in the market. EY’s FIS professionals help organisations protect and restore enterprise and financial reputation. We assist organisations to investigate facts, resolve disputes and manage regulatory challenges, and we put integrity at the heart of compliance programs to better manage ethical and reputational risks. 

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary Oceania FIS team including accountants, risk managers, technology specialists and former regulatory and law enforcement professionals.

This role can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes, client satisfaction, and end-to-end management from initiation through to closure.
  • Analyse complex datasets using advanced tools and methodologies to generate insights, build models, identify patterns, automate processes, visualise results, and produce evidence to support investigations, compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand forensic data challenges, manage stakeholder relationships (including corporate clients, legal teams, and Partners), and present findings and recommendations in a clear, impactful manner.
  • Contribute to business development (proposals and presentations), mentor and develop high-performing teams through coaching and training, and demonstrate flexibility including occasional travel.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Proven experience in forensic data analytics, fraud investigations, and dispute support, with strong technical capability in tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, Alteryx, JavaScript, and experience with data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI).
  • Understanding of advanced analytical techniques and technologies, including machine learning, pattern recognition, NLP, and big data tools such as Spark, Elasticsearch, and Hadoop, alongside working knowledge of financial and broader business processes (e.g., regulatory reporting).
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated leadership, team development, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Proven business development experience, including coordinating and preparing proposals, with excellent report writing skills and high attention to detail.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • 5+ years of experience in forensic accounting and data analytics, with strong knowledge of data analytics tools, databases, and visualisation platforms, and the ability to apply best practices (data quality assessment, validation, documentation, and reproducibility) in investigations and dispute support. 
  • Proven experience leading client engagements and managing teams, with strong communication skills, discretion, confidentiality, and sound professional judgment. 
  • Strong analytical capability, including the ability to interpret complex and ambiguous information, summarise key insights, manage competing priorities, and deliver training and consulting engagements effectively. 
  • Relevant professional qualification (CPA, CA, CFF, CFE, or equivalent), with flexibility to travel occasionally and additional language skills considered an advantage.
