The Opportunity

As a Manager in Finance Strategy and Transformation, you will be at the forefront of driving financial innovation and strategic transformation for our diverse portfolio of clients. This is a leadership role where your expertise will shape high-impact finance strategies, lead complex transformation projects, and influence key business decisions that accelerate growth and operational excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Shape and deliver finance strategies and target operating models that reposition Finance as a strategic partner to the business
  • Lead complex finance transformation workstreams end‑to‑end, translating executive intent into practical designs, implementation‑ready solutions and measurable outcomes
  • Partner with senior Finance and Technology leaders to define future‑state processes, governance and service delivery models across record to report, plan to perform and adjacent processes
  • Lead finance functional design for ERP and EPM platforms, aligning data, controls and reporting to enable accurate, timely and insight‑led decision‑making
  • Guide and influence system integrators and internal teams through clear requirements, design direction and governance
  • Drive disciplined delivery, proactively managing risk, dependencies and trade‑offs while maintaining momentum and quality
  • Build, lead and develop high‑performing teams, setting direction, role‑modelling EY values and lifting capability across the practice
  • Lead the analysis and redesign of finance processes and reporting, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
  • Spearhead finance transformation initiatives by leveraging industry best practices to deliver measurable, sustainable results.

 

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • A strong consulting or transformation background, with proven experience delivering finance transformation programs in complex environments
  • Deep understanding of finance processes, operating models, data and reporting across ERP and FP&A contexts
  • Hands‑on experience shaping or supporting ERP and or EPM initiatives, including platforms such as Anaplan, Aptitude or similar solutions
  • The ability to synthesise complex issues into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Strong leadership presence, with confidence engaging executives and leading multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Understanding of the financial services sector, including banking, insurance, or asset management, is highly desirable.
  • .Experience in financial services, including banking, insurance or asset management, is highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as CA ANZ, CPA or CIMA are advantageous
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, eager to embrace emerging technologies and trends shaping the future of finance.
